Legere Tenor Sax Signature 2.5

Plays straight out of the box without any need for wetting or moistening
The Legere synthetic reed is superb to play. You do not need to wet them or suck them before starting to play. They all have a very consistent quality and can last a very long time (upto 6 months) whereas some cane reeds may not even be up to standard right out of their box. This is not uncommon but I've noticed some cane reeds in one batch are not as good as others. After a while cane reeds, because they are a natural product can warp at the tip and can split easily. The legere reed has to be looked after and gently washed with mild soap and tepid water each week although the manufacturers say that bacterial build up is extremely rare due to the material used. I'd definitely recommend. Also there's a strength exchange program if you feel you ordered the wrong strength. Check their strength chart for good comparison. There reeds are more expensive ( 1 reed = pack of 10 cane reeds) bt they last longer than 10 reeds if you are playing a lot. I would say that they are semi transparent so you may find it difficult to line up properly on the mouthpiece as you cannot easiky see the mouth piece edges.

sound great but they are fragile
these sound great but given the cost I thought they would be more robust than they are, I have had two split in a matter of weeks after cleaning my sax carefully they don't like being taken off the mouthpiece too often as the edge seems to split very easily

Move from Cane Reed to Synthetic Reed
Hit the ground running with this particular brand, lasts for months and can play straight away without having to go through the normal procedures with the cane reed.Another brand of synthetic reed was tried but much preferred this one.

best synthetic reed I've found
If you want a synthetic reed, this is probably the one. Not, it's not as good as a really good natural reed, but it lasts and it's consistent.

Surprisingly good
My first time using plastic reeds. I went for this one after reading the feedbacks. I’m surprised with the quality. It feels weird on the tongue (too smooth compared with wood) Hopefully, it will last long.

Superb reeds
I tried synthetic reeds years ago but was very disappointed. These Legere reeds are very different. Superb, very clear and responsive, as good as the best cane reeds but more durable. Strength rating similar to Vandoren.

Terrific for Beginners and Professionals
As a beginner ploughing through Tune a Day, this signature reed is found consistent as apposed to cane reeds that vary and can be fiddly. It removes the trouble of setting up the reed and mouthpiece every time the sax is played. I started with cane reeds then moved onto Fibre reed, that was not impressive, finally found Legere signature. Combined with metal Otto Link Super master tone 7* and 2.5 reed the sound can be controlled to be mellow or bright. The reed can also be left on the mouth piece with the cover on as it does not require moisture so will not dry out like cane reeds. There is no way that I would go back to cane reeds, this signature reed has proved itself to warrant further purchases. The instrument is left out on a stand and is played more often without having to set up the read every time. (Still clean the instrument after playing, just dry it all out and spray mouthpiece with an anti bacterial.Cons, the transparent reed is difficult to align with edge of mouthpiece because it can not be easily seen, (transparent) It may be useful for the manufacturer to colour it. Still highly recommended though.
