Shimano Metanium Dc Low Profile Reels

Absolutely the best reel I have ever owned! I have had it for about a month or so and it has performed flawlessly! Super easy to dial in with your preferred line, bait, and weight. Accommodates to weight change with no problem. Unbelievably SMOOTH! I put it on a Favorite 7'4" BIG SEXY Medium/ Heavy - Fast Action rod! I highly recommend this if it is within your fishing budget! Just kidding, there is no budget when it comes to fishing! Fish on, baby!

First thing right out the box the bearings are awesome!!!! I’ve tried and tried different bearings over the years and found what I was looking for in this reel. As for the dc part it’s cool but I still cast this bait caster just like any other thumb on or near spool till it hits the water. The dc brakes are a little more quiet to me then the curado dc. Only thing I don’t like and why they can’t shim it or something for this reel is it still has a little play when push or pull in and out on the crank. Not as bad as the curado k but some. Would I buy again yes. Everyone should have at least 1 dc reel. You put this reel on auto or 4 and skip lures like a pro under cover and docks. Also this reel doesn’t need to be super tuned or bearings changed it fine right out the box.

I pair this reel with st croix legend extreme 7'6 med heavy, mod fast rod,Works amazing, does not eliminate back lash, but does cut down the chances. if setup correctly and not care for distance it would not backlash, strong brake, feels good on hand, love itA bit expensive, if you like top quality equipment this is it...

I usually don’t write reviews, but this reel was something special to write about. Obviously the price tag is a bit alarming, but paired with a fantastic rod it can work wonders, barely any backlash unless casted very carelessly. Shimano really did well with their DC lineup, I was able to test the cheaper Curato DC and it was on par with a little less bells and whistles. If you want to spend $500 on a bait caster this is the one for you, otherwise settling for the Curato DC is still a premium choice. The sound it makes when casting makes you want to cast more and more. Great product!

Great smooth reel. I now own five of these and is all I use now. Casts a country mile.

I always struggled with casting reels because I used light line and light baits. When I paired this with a G-Loomis rod it worked so well that I switched all my casting reels out for these.

This was a birthday present for my 13 year old son. He loves it so much he leaves it at home instead of taking it fishing 😂.

So this is my 4th metanium dc but the first one I bought here they should all have a nice slick gold color tension Knob just like this one in the picture mine just had plane colerd cheap looking knob.. when you pay 500 dollars for a nice reel every part should match accordingly to the picture you are looking at makes you think what other cheap knock off parts are in this reel I highly recommend going somewhere else to get something this nice and the worst part is i can't even message the seller WOW
