This mid-weight parka will keep you warm and dry on almost any hunt. The 6 oz. insulation is the perfect weight for stationary or mildly active hunting. The Hush Hide fabric is soft, quiet and waterproof. The nylon lining allows easy movement and wont stick to other clothing items you layer underneath. Detachable hood, clip/shell pocket on chest and back tag holder round out a very solid hunting parka.

I did a long research, and read many reviews before choosing this jacket and I am glad I did. I am telling you, not easy to buy a jacket online without trying it on first and feeling the fabric I am glad I took a chance on this one. I usually wear "large" and this jacket in "large" was a perfect fit with and without layers of clothes. Used it during deer hunt in the backwoods of Arkansas this November just before Thanksgiving. I wore cotton thermal underwear a flannel shirt and wool sweater under this jacket and I was comfortable in 32-36 degree weather (Fahrenheit). It is not too bulky, but it is a little loud. Not too good for stalking, but okay if you are waiting in a deer stand. The hunter orange color is bright and loud, but still has a camouflage pattern. In fact 9 out out 10 deer I asked approved the color of this jacket compared to boring plain orange. Other hunters reported they could see me a mile away, I did not get shot even once with friendly fire this entire season.Worth noting: I was caught in a very heavy rainstorm for about 8 hours straight with no access to shelter. This jacket held up for about 4 to maybe 5 hours after which it got soaked through and through very suddenly. I was wringing water out of it. I took a star way because this jacket is not 100% waterproof or quiet as described. I wish it was, but it is okay. I am glad I bought it and would buy it again.

Great jacket for 20+ degree hunting
I wore this hunting this year and was impressed with the jacket the few times I was out. The jacket fit great when I tried it on with room to layer underneath (more on that to come). When we started hunting it was warm (in the 40s) and I wore the jacket with only a light under layer and was toasty warm all day, in fact I zipped the jacket down a bit to keep from overheating during pushes. The following week the temperature dropped to about 20 and we had a slow steady snow on the mountain, the snow didn't soak into the jacket and with a thicker under layer I was again toasty warm. I only was out a few times this year but when I went out I went for the day and was regularly pretty mobile, I was highly visible, comfortable, and dry. The pockets could be a bit bigger but were functional to carry some extras and heavier hats and gloves. I am happy enough that I am currently looking into getting the gamehide bib to match, I would recommend to a friend.

Comfortable and Quiet
Overall a very good buy. It is very comfortable and and very quiet when hunting. Not the warmest jacket I have but it is so large it is very easy to layer. Normally I wear a 3x but since they were sold out I decided to try a 2x since most reviews said to size down anyway and it was still large enough for me to wear a sweatshirt and a sweat jacket under with no problem...anyone buying definitely size down. The pockets are large enough to hold stuff without worrying much about it falling out...the chest pocket though in my opinion is much to small for practical use...needs to be deeper at least to fit a phone or something in...I found no real use for it yet except my earplugs.Overall though a very nice jacket and a good buy.

Impressed with this parka.
Nice and lightweight this waterproof parka does a good job with keeping the cold out and body heat in. Plenty of room to layer up for the coldest weather, too. Sitting for hours in 10 degree weather and never got cold. One complaint is Velcro on the hood, which is not a deal breaker. The flap with the hooked side of the Velcro tends to fold inward and stick to the inside of the hood, so if you need to put on your hood you have to reach up and unlatch it. Can't be done stealthily. Perhaps the Velcro positions should be sewn on in reverse to prevent that. Overall great gear though!

Great light weight winter hunting coat!!!
This was perfect for deer hunting on a 40° windy fall morning and wasn't too heavy when it warmed up to 50° that afternoon. The velcro on the hood was a little noisy so I took off the removeable hood but everything else about it was great. I am definitely glad I went with this one vs one from the big outdoor stores that cost 3 times as much. Wish I could find one of these made in the USA but even the ones from the big outdoor stores are all made overseas.

Could be better
I really dislike being critical, but the coat appears to have been designed by someone who does not hunt. The first problem is both the hood and the breast pockets have Velcro, or hook and loop, closures. Virtually any closure system would be more quiet than Velcro. The large breast pocket is far too small for an iPhone 6, which is also a negative.Another problem is that there are cartridge loops incorporated into the breast pocket. That, in itself, is not a bad thing. The problem is that they are too small for most big game calibers. Neither the .308 Winchester or .30-06 will fit, and they are the parent casings of the most popular calibers in America. If you can't fit those two calibers in them, or the .243. .260., 7mm-08, .270. .280, .25-06 and a host of others, it would be best to just not have the loops. If it were me, I'd just completely do away with the left breast pocket and replace it with two slash-type breast pockets that close with a zipper. On a positive note, the fabric is fairly quiet and I suspect it will soften and quiet-down even more with time and a ride or two in a washing machine. The shipping as fast, too. I placed the order on a Tuesday with standard shipping, received the package on Saturday, and there was a holiday in that time period.I would consider the insulation to be medium. On days in the 30's or lower, I would expect a down or fleece liner will be needed if you're sitting in a deer stand. I can't do any more than speculate on how warm it is because it was purchased, along with the matching bibs, as a Christmas gift for my son. I guess I'll be giving them to him before Christmas so he can decide if he wants to return them. I suspect that Velcro is going to be a deal-breaker as he primarily hunts deer. They do fit as expected. My son and I wear roughly the same size clothing and I tried them on and they fit fine.I also wrote a review on the Flatland bibs. They are better than the coat, but again, could have easily been improved at little cost.

Very warm and comfy
Very warm. Comfortable. Pockets are fine. Except the small chest one, very small. But unbelievably warm. Many times i had to unzip to cool off a bit.
