Excellent sound quality on phone calls
I use the JK Audio THAT-2 for recording conference calls for meeting minutes. I bought a male to female XLR mic cable and connected it to a ZOOM H-6 (which is a high-end digital audio recorder). I like how easy it was to set up (took less than 3 minutes), and how you can adjust the volume levels on the call with the output dial on the THAT-2. Using the THAT-2 with the ZOOM H-6 was perfect for me because I can adjust the call volume on the THAT-2 and also monitor the volume levels just by looking at the volume indicator "levels" on the ZOOM H-6 recorder while recording. I was looking for near-perfect phone call recording sound clarity and I got it using these two devices. If you want to record calls in stereo for even better sound quality, I recommend that you also purchase (in addition to the male/female XLR mic cable) an XLR splitter. I use the XLR Splitter Cable, Female to 2 Male XLR "Y" Cable (also available here on Amazon).

A must have for making handset level telephone recordings
Allows you to inject audio into a telephone or record what is being sent to the handset. Great for testing digital audio tuning on hybrid phones.

The perfect, compact tool for a particular job.
I used to use expensive, electronic gear to tap a telephone for amplification or recording. For my purposes this works just as well and takes up negligible space in my gear box.

The best tool for the job!
We use this to connect a Polycom phone to our PA system. The audio quality is excellent, and the ability to use either XLR or RCA connectors is a big plus. As a former broadcast engineer, I'm picky about sound, and this exceeded my expectations.
