It works the way it should
I had to replace the one I had because I drove off with it on my bumper after dropping my trailer. It works fine. It seems a little short because there’s a little play in it when it’s plugged in and the lid with the lip is down. It’s in far enough and the lights work without any issues.

7 pin to 4 pin trailer wiring adapter
I purchase these somewhat regularly. I sell utility trailers and some vehicles today only come with a 7 pin plug. These have worked well on connecting a 4 pin flat on the trailer to the 7 pin connector on the vehicle.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out why the adapter wasn't working properly only to find out one of the wires was off Inside the unit. I put it back together and it worked.
