Great Way to Extend the Life of My Cleaner
This kit was a cost effective way to extend the life of my Polaris 280 pool cleaner. The kit was complete, included easy to follow instructions, and all the parts fit well. The price is very competitive.

Full Wheel and Gear Replacement Kit
Did a full upgrade on my Polaris 280 robot. I know they sell a full rebuild kit but I don’t know what else it could provide besides the tail and float. This had everything to swap out the wheels and gears plus some replacement screws.

Great kit! From polaris.
This was a perfect rebuild kit for my polaris 280. It took me about an hour start to finish. Made my 26 yr old polaris run SO much better!! Why buy an overpriced fancy pool vac when this does its job perfectly STILL after 26 yrs, with many more to come now! Other items I replaced that were not in the kit were the floats on the hose, the backup valve, and the wall attachment piece.

Genuine Polaris, very complete kit
My wife kept asking me "why don't you just buy a new one?" For starters, a new one is about 5x the price of this kit! Plus, following the detailed and very helpful directions helped me to get intimately familiar with how this little spitting device works. The next time it acts up, I might have a clue how to fix it.Note that if you have a 180 model, you will also need glue. I was relieved to discover that mine is a 280, which meant that there was no gluing involved.Perhaps best of all, the wheels were all pre-assembled. No struggling with getting bearings in the wheels or onto the axles. Working very slowly and methodically, I had the project done in less than an hour -- including walking back and forth to the garage for tools that I hadn't grabbed the first time.

Hopefully, this helps clear up some confusion
While looking around for a factory tuneup kit for my old Polaris 280, I Saw multiple reviews and which buyers claimed they did not get all the parts in the picture. There seemed to be lots of debate about part numbers and whether the kit was from Polaris.I have attached four pictures. Two are of the box and two of the contents. This is a Polaris factory kit. The side of the box states that part number A49 is for the Polaris 180/280, and the part number K49 is for the Polaris 280 Black Max.Everything in the picture is in the box. The wheel bearings, tires and wheel shields are all assembled, so it may not look like the exploded view in the advert pic.I purchased my kit from Pool Zoom, so maybe different sellers offer different pieces and parts in their kits. The kit from Pool Zoom is exactly as pictured and is from Polaris. This is the second time I’ve installed this kit in the last 10 years, and it basically restores my cleaner to like-new condition.

Polaris Factory Kit
This is a Polaris factory kit, not from a 3rd party manufacturer. I don’t know how some of the cheaper kits work but this one is of high quality and works well. It is the exact same kit that Leslie’s Pool Supply sells for $280, but I really don’t understand how they can get away with charging that amount. I only needed a new wheel but, this was not my first rodeo and assumed that I would be replacing parts every month or so unless I bit the bullet and just overhauled the sucker. You could probably save a few bucks by buying separate parts or a cheaper kit but this one will do the job once and for all.

As advertised
I have been looking at re-build kits for a year and the reviews always mention that they either differ from the picture or are "missing" key parts. I finally chose the "OEM" package A49. It includes the needed parts to restore to almost factory new condition. If you need a tail, scrubber or bag - they are not included and should not be.Installation was relatively easy, but I have used the 280 for quite a few years and am familiar with taking it apart. The "instructions", are really a construction blow up and marginally helpful. If you are new to working on the 280, it is not hard and a few YouTube videos will make it doable.
