27" RV Battery Lock Box - Aluminum Diamond Plate

Delivered as described. Size was perfect for two group 27 100 amp hour batteries. Very pleased with quality. Would definitely recommend. It's worth the money.

This box is as described, and nice. One thing I would suggest is when you make your cut to bend your corners, drill a round hole for your relief. That’s standard in sheet metal work. Your cut outs are square cut, that builds in stress risers at the corners when you bend it up, and stress risers cause cracks. When I have the installation described below finished, I’m going to have my welder tack weld everything, so I’ll him round out those square notches while he is there. I saw all this before I purchased by looking close, so none of this is a surprise to me. I could not have built, or had this box built locally for the price. As I’m mounting to a 1989 Avion, that slants forward slightly at the front, with propane bottles forward of the box, and load levelers almost under the front edge when moved to where it will mount, I’m having to raise it 3.5” up. I planned on having to do this as I knew I could not just bolt it down, even if I removed the existing angle iron mounts. The slant of my front causes me to move forward about a 1.25” which hits my load leveler mounts.I’ll post more pictures when I finish. These two pictures just show my cardboard pattern for my mount angles.For now I’ll just describe I’m raising it 3.5”, on 4 - 3.5” tall angles 1” flanges. The angles will reach front to back on the box for proper support of the box. The angles will fit in my existing 1” battery box angle iron frame, with about a 50 degree angle cut sloping up from the top of the angle iron frame to the front of the box. This is clearance to pin/unpin my load leveler pins at connect/disconnect. That’s not as tight an area as it sounds.

Nice box easy install but it would be nice if it included a disconnect switch I installed one and straps to tie down the batteries. It looks great on my camper. it would be better if they coated the sharp edges as well. I think the pricing is a little on the high side for the box but I like it overall.

Great product, well made however the cable holes are all near the top and most likely you will need to modify your existing cabling to make it longer to reach to your batteries. Mine were far to short. The box it'self has a ridiculous amount of room in it which is very useful. Gave 4 stars due to location of cable holes.

I had planned on having someone build an aluminum battery box similar to this but when I saw this on Amazon I just bought it. Excellent quality and just what I wanted.

I like that it matches the front of my trailer. It fits two Trojan T-105 deep cycle batteries perfect. I insulted my box to add a little more protection, and plan on having a custom cover made to go over the top to keep out any moisture. Mounting options could be improved, by offer a tray for the box to sit in rather than fastening it down directly on to the frame. Rather pricey considering its riveted together and not welded.
