Works nicely, smells awful.
I've used it very sparingly but it dries very quickly and is rather buttery. However, this thing reeks. I got some terrible headaches the first couple of times using it, so use it in a ventilated space and don't huff the stuff.

What side is your canvas buttered on?
This is an absolute must for those of us who do pallet knife painting. Don't paint without it! I highly recommend it

great product
This product is great for faster drying as well as it makes the amount of oil paint go a lot further.

An absolute no due to toxicity
Absolutely zero reason to buy this toxic product. It reeks worse than plain turpentine and has multiple warnings about health hazards. Plenty of other materials for the same purpose. I’m honestly surprised it is still on the market. It is that bad: “may cause drowsiness or dizziness, harmful to aquatic life avoid release into environment, do not breathe vapors, do not get eyes, skin or clothing”. I’m not an environmental nut, but there is no way anyone should use this indoors nor is there any reason to use it at all when there are other products that do the same thing. Will be insisting on a refund from Amazon, despite a no return policy since the toxicity of this product is not explained on the information on their website.

Amazing impasto medium ...
I used this stuff for years when it was Lukas #5 and it was amazing. I created test panels years ago to test various black oils, maroger, copals, and alkyds. The Lukas actually dried from the inside out, held the chroma of the paint like nothing else, and five years later I bent the panels 180 degrees and Lukas was still flexible. For impasto it blew Maroger (my homemade and two purchased brands) and all other alkyds out of the water. I no longer need impasto as I paint very differently nowadays. I use various quantities of spike oil and Groves black oil. But if I did it would def be Lukas.Only drawback? The smell of alkyds is horrible to me. Lukas isn't as bad as Liquin and some others, but it will never have that sweet pine scent of good turps or the lavender smell of spike oil.
