I {Heart} Krups Grinders: Great for Flax Seeds or Nuts!
S’ok, This is my second Krups grinder (the first one was also great, but was borrowed and never returned – lesson learned, btw… and the last time that will ever happen)…Don’t drink coffee, but, I love this little seed grinder! I use it to grind flax seeds to add to recipes and to grind nuts to use as toppings on salads or frozen yogurt sundaes! It’s easy to use and works well. And as far as I can tell they last quite a while, my old one was over 5 years old before it was lost… but, it really is quite a nice product and makes for a bit of versatility when trying to make your recipes a bit healthier or just grinding requirements in general. I have made facials using ground oatmeal, sesame, rice, etc...Pros and Cons:Cons:1. The newer devices (all-brands) aren't as sturdy as the older ones-- although a bit larger than previous models, sometimes due to heavy grinding of beans the cover may crack (it will still work--but this never happened with the older ones)..2. Grinders can be a bit noisy, so you may want to do advance grinding when people are already awake to avoid unnecessarily disturbing the whole sleeping household, and store the bulk in the fridge in a ziplock for freshness.Pros:1. You can get a lot done, especially for small-batch recipes...2. Grinds almost anything (dry beans, coffee beans, seeds, oats, etc)Overall, this device is a really nice product for the price.Grade: A- / 4.95 Stars!

Still the one
I seem to come back to this grinder no matter what others I've tried. I had a roommate with a Starbucks standing burr grinder which I found to be loud and messy as well as overpriced. I've tried Mr. Coffee's self cleaning model, which was handy since the basket removed where this one does not, however, the blades aren't as fast or perhaps quality as what you'll find in a Krups unit. This is probably the cheapest, best grinder that there is for around the 20$ range. It gets the job done, grinds evenly and will pulverize your beans to a fine espresso grade grind as you wish. Easy to see through the lid to adjust your grind fineness. Easy to wipe out and clean, yet I'll have to insert the Mr. Coffee grinder was a bit simpler to clean. A fine grinder indeed and still the one I'd chose to purchase.

Quick, solid construction, "Fresh Coffee"
Quick, Solid construction, and very easy to use. If want a grinder that works quickly, then this inexpensive Unit is excellent. I would rate this item a FIVE star if it were easier to clean. If you grind the beans too long, then you get a fine powder that is difficult to clean. You may have to experiment with the length of grinding your coffee beans to get the right texture for your coffee maker, but overall, this is a very good product that will serve anyone who wants a Fresh cup in the morning very well.

Dedicated to tomatoes!
I ordered this grinder for one primary purpose: to grind crispy-dried tomaotes into a powder for making "instant" tomato sauce, paste, juice, soup, etc. It does a superb job!Dehydrating has become a preferred method for preserving our garden's bounty; this year, instead of drying tomatoes to the leathery/chewy state, I wanted them REALLY dry for grinding. My old mill-type coffee grinder, which is great for coffee, is difficult (read, impossible) to clean thoroughly, and I did not want tomato-flavored coffee. I chose this grinder after reading many of the reviews, thinking it should be acceptable.Wow, when I say it turns my brittle-crisp tomatoes into a powder, I mean at least the texture of baking soda, maybe even talc ... skins and seeds and all. There's not a seed that can be identified in the finished powder. This is highly concentrated, flavorful stuff; a little goes a long way (for example, one part powder to three parts water for tomato sauce).I also ordered an espresso brush for cleaning out the container, which works fine for the way I am using this grinder.

An efficient, reliable, durable work-horse!
I decided to write a review on this because I am really in awe at the quality of this product. I purchased this on amazon back in 2012 and have used it to grind at least 4-5 batches of coffee per week.. That is minimum over 2,000 uses and it is still going strong as if I purchased it yesterday - simply WOW! It is probably an obsolete model by now but I want to recommend this brand - simply the best!

Not a well designed product
The lid on this grinder binds up and is difficult to remove. Alignment slots on the interior aggravate this problem. The upper rim of the hopper is angled, making it impossible to fill all the way. This flaw makes it difficult to fill to capacity. Your suppliers should do more to filter out poorly designed products like this one. I was given a 25% refund on this and am ok with that, I don't want to have to ship it back, wait for a different one. I had a Braun, level topped hopper, for about twenty years before that and I had just wanted to replace that one. I thought, from the photo, that this was similar.

back to basics
We were sucked into the hype around burr grinders a few years back and tossed our old Krups grinder. It was actually an old one of my mother's and the top was getting a little ragged, chewed up. But this week we came back around and ordered this grinder. You just can't beat its simplicity. I like being able to measure out the exact amount of beans and grind it to my own preference. The burr grinder relies on presets for how fine the grind is. You also are trusting that, when you set it to grind 10 cups' worth of beans, that's what you will get. After a while those things start getting a little wiggy on you.But not this unit. It grinds exactly what you put in and it grinds it coarse or fine, whatever you want. There's very little to go wrong because there's not much going on. No fancy dials or knobs. It's perfect.

We bought a new Krups grinder.
Our new Krups grinder works well, however, there are both pros and cons. It is powerful, quiet and easy to clean. On the minus side, the cord is too short and clumsy. Our last grinder had a twist top that would wind the cord around the inside of the base similar to the way a vacuum has a rewind inside. Over all, we would buy This brand again.

Simply perfect coffee
I only have one cup of coffee a day - but it has to be the best. I enjoy the ritual of trying to make the perfect cup. This grinder makes that goal consistently achievable. It is small, neat, attractive (mine is black), well designed, simple to the point of basic - and effective. I use a stove top espresso maker, and this grinds beautifully fine, which makes the espresso machine really have to work to force through the coffee. The result is strong, smooth coffee - perfect to add milk to, or to have black. Most importantly, I now get better cups of coffee than before I owned it.A really pleasing product.
