Product is not ready yet
I like the concept behind this product, but it needs work. The foot actuator needs to be longer in order to be able to activate the pitch while maintaining the proper stance (this is the opinion of both a 6'2" and a 5'7" batter). Right now, you have to step on the actuator and then re-step in order to take a good swing, which is hard to do. With practice, you can get the two-step movement down in order to hit the ball well, but this defeats the purpose of using this device for practicing your swings. As the product stands right now, I would not recommend this to anyone. With some modifications, though, I think this can be a good tool for batting practice.

our son absolutely loves this. It has improved his batting skills. And keeps him busy without me getting hit by the ball.

Problems we had...but fixed ourself
We just received this 4 days ago. My 12 year old daughter LOVED it. The first day the ball would not release when you stepped on the pedal thing every time. We looked at the directions to loosen/tighten it and it was difficult to see which way to turn the nuts to make the adjustments and the compartment it is in is very small along with the wrenches to do this. Here is our tip: With the pedal facing you so you are looking up the ball holder turning the silver or the small black nut to the left loosens the cable and to the right tightens it. We had problems for 2 days and had to continue to tighten this cable. Eventually we found the piece holding the cable in the loops on the mechanism was not tight enough or the correct piece to fight the kind of pressure you are putting on this cable, it pulled apart. We went to the local hardware store and purchased the correct thing to crimp on the cable. We replaced 1 end put it back together and the other side pulled out. We then replaced that side also. Took it to a softball practice on the 3rd day and it made it through 10 girls hitting a minimum of 8 balls each. Plus my 19 year old son is the coach so he had to play with it also. We did not have to tighten it at all during or after practice. We just figured we can replace those tiny pieces for a few bucks and not hassle with a return/exchange when a new one would come with the same problem. That being said. We really like the machine and those first days my daughter used it at the campground we received alot of compliments of how nice it was. All the kids wanted to practice. We did already have a back net to catch the hits from a previous pitching machine we hardly used, this is a must unless you are at a ball field.I did take pictures but I have no idea how to upload them to my review (I dont have an option for that)Also this can be used Left or Right handed you just turn it around. Lastly if you are on uneven ground or have someone who stomps on the peddle too hard it will make all the balls go flying and the machine tip. There are also YouTube videos on how to correctly stand and use the machine. It is very helpful for correct use.

There are probably better options
Pro:- It flips the ball in the airCons:- It is LOUD when the ball releases- It requires the batter to step on the release pad and reset their feet before swinging, we were aware of this before purchase but would be nice to have the option to flip the release pad so a parent/coach could do it for them.- When you combine a loud noise with having to reset feet it can be a bit much for younger players to then have to concentrate on hitting the ball- The auto feeder doesn't work so well with softballs- The path of the ball while in the air isn't consistent, which could be a plus for batters to practice following the ball, but I was hoping to use this on swing mechanics and sometimes the balls end up on behind the machine.- It did take some work on my part when I received the item, the launcher wouldn't stay latched so I had to spend some time calibrating the cable that holds the latch down.
