Learn to play a better game of chess
I really like the game of chess. It opens and expands your mind. A new way of thinking. It teaches strategy and control. Chess is a great game to learn and enjoy. This is computerized and teaches you all about it and how to. It has cards and instructions to help show you how to move and which way all peices can be moved and when.

They will enjoy iy
I bought this board for my dad and brother because they're adamant chess players. They both seem to love it. If one isn't on it the other one is.

Keep directions handy for the first few games.
It can be a little confusing on how to use it. After playing several games it gets a little easier. Referring to he directions on how certain things work is helpful.

Great educational chess computer...
Right size board for coffee table or dining room table use. Comes with clear directions and seval quick use sheets. Plus a problem solving chess puzzle workbook. Flash cards for chess pieces movement. The most educational setup I've ever seen. 55 years ago I bought the first electric chess computer called Boris. Hundreds of times slower. To get a system like this today you'd pay $400 or more. I consider this computer a good buy for children to intermediate chess players.

It's killing me.
I have been playing chess for a long time, on and off, sometimes with years going by not playing at all, and then a sudden renewal of interest, usually sparked by meeting people who were just getting into chess. I recently began playing online chess against “Bots.” On the basis of how I play against the online chess “Bots,” I guesstimate that I have an Elo rating of 1200. I’ve seen 1200 described as an upper-level beginner/lower-level intermediate player. Sounds about right. I purchased this game to be a chess opponent, “someone” to play against in the hopes of improving my game. So far, my opponent is killing me. There are many levels of play, and I brought it down to what I believe (if I understand the instruction manual) is the easiest level: Fun 1. I’m dying. I have NOT used any of the tutorial talking stuff. I prefer to see that I’ve made a mistake, take it back, and proceed again. But I’m still dying. For someone of my mediocre playing ability, this is a tough machine. But maybe it will help me improve, which was the whole idea for getting it.

Ghost pieces appear in computer’s brain
3 months with no problems, but lately the computer makes mistakes. Sometimes, the computer asks to move a non existent piece from an empty square. That piece was already moved few steps ago as the game went on. That mistake makes the game impossible to continue.

Very challenging
Love it

Very strong chess computer
Love the size of the board and the pieces. Is much stronger than 2200. I played an 8 game match with it against a unit with a well established 2375 rating, and this machine won all eight games. I'd guess the Elo of this chess computer is at least 2,700, maybe more.
