Perfect size mat for placing alongside stovetop as you are canning. It doesn't get in your way. I lay out the jar rims and seals and other canning tools on it. I do not baby it. I get lots of nasty cranberry and grape stains on it from preserving spills, but you just run it under a kitchen faucet, all stains are gone. Wring it out and lay it over your dish drain or bathroom shower rod to dry. Next day it's ready to use again, no need to use the washer and dryer for this. I can't say enough about this item.
