Works great
I prefer them too the racks that you mount behind the bike, which tend to leave marks on your board from cinching it up to tight or grinding the tail off. I've had these for 2 months now and they have left no marks on my board and no tail grinding. :DThe one con is, no matter how tight I get my set post, the weight and wind from rack and board will turn my set/post. Easy enough to fix while stopped, but a PIA while riding. It doesn't happen enough to be a real pain.Update; I've actually found a way to fix the spinning seat post issue. Which is a really easy fix in most cases, if your seat post clamp has a slot or hole you can drill a tiny hole in the seat post and line it up then insert a screw so the the pole can no longer turn. Then just clamp down on the mounting bracket and the issue should never happen again. Also I have had it 7 years now and it's still holding up well.

2nd one; amazing!
Hello to all surfers! My name is Jin and I go to UCSD... meaning that i get to go to Blacks beach everyday. I used this rack for a year until my bike was stolen 3 days ago T____T''' (very sad, and i miss my cruiser). So I had to ride my bike one-handed, with the other hand carrying my board. This is such a pain in the ass, my arm and lower back were super sore due to imbalanced posture while riding the bike. So I ordered my 2nd rack right away. I was actually feeling too lazy to write a review, until seeing that the 2nd rack arrived A DAY AFTER i ordered it. Holy crap! I was bummed out since the delivery estimation was 9/21~9/24. Since school starts 9/23, I was super bummed out that I would have to carry the board to go surfing. Thank you so much for the ingenious invention, and a quick delivery. I hope that my bike wouldn't get stolen again. Maybe the thief wanted the surf rack? haha

Update: It broke again :(
This is my second one. The first one broke in a year at the seat.Update: Unfortunately after 5 months of continued use, this rack broke again at the attachment to the seat post. I purchased this rack through the ICN company. I reached out to ICN about a warranty or replacement; however, they are unable to offer a replacement. Unfortunately, Carver.com does not offer a warranty if purchased from a 3rd party seller. I advise you to purchase this product through them even if it costs a little more upfront or look for a different rack/seller.

How to look like an instant local...
I purchased a Carver Surfboard Bike Rack on a whim with the intention of taking it along on a recent two week surfing adventure in New Zealand. Actually, it wasn't much of an adventure, with enough surf to keep us entertained at any one of the many breaks within an easy bike ride of my sister's home. In the end, this purchase ended up being the next most essential piece of equipment besides my surfboard and wetsuit. And the ability to easily and safely transport my surfboard and gear to the beach, on a bicycle, and without the need for an automobile was huge! It afforded me a level of independence and mobility I've not experienced in the past. And it also made me look like an instant local! The Carver Surfboard Bike Rack has two major features: The single point, seat-post mounting bracket (I didn't even have to wrestle with removing the corroded, old nut on the seat of my borrowed bike); And the overall compactness of this lightweight design (The entire rack was easily broken down and stowed within my surfboard bag). Many years ago, I owned a similar set of racks, of poor design, that required a two-point installation. The two-point installation was much harder to install, harder to navigate with, and left scratches all over the frame of my bicycle. The Carver Surfboard Bike Rack eliminates all of this hassle. And all of the damage. (Especially if you are on a borrowed or rented bicycle.)Since I've been living inland for the past few years, with only the option to travel for surf, I decided to leave my rack with my sister, assuming it'll be there for me on future visits. However, within a couple of days she reported that she'd already transferred the racks to her bicycle, "in about five minutes".I highly recommend the Carver Surfboard Bike Rack.

Its a hassle to take it on and off. ...
Its a hassle to take it on and off. You have to screw, a clamp would have been a million times easier

great product easy installation
I gotta say this system is awesome, I ride my bike from deep in Palolo Valley down into Waiks and the surrounding areas (those of you familiar with Oahu) I ride my bike right on the road and I fly over bumps and pot holes no problems, I get some wobble and minimal pull but nothing you couldn't handle. the only problem I foresee is those damn tweeking thieves. the two joints that actually hold the board slips into a slot and can be easily taken out. now a thief with a tool kit (they exist) could actually get the whole set up. I wish there where loops in the system to slip a cable through to make it a bit more of a challenge to rip off. but overall this is a product that I am more than happy with.

So Awesome Brah
I was wanting one of these surfboard bike racks for a really long time and finally bought this one. I can't believe that I waited so long. WOW! This makes life so much easier. Being able to ride my bike with 2 hands instead of 1 is so much safer and less of a hassle, especially if you have to bike against the wind. So easy to put on, you probably don't even need instructions. I highly recommend for anybody that rides their bike to their local break.

Does the Job
I bought this rack to carry a 90" long, 23" wide fun board on my full suspension mountain bike. While I don't believe the rack was actually designed for a board that large, it does so fairly successfully. Occasionally, the weight of the board can turn the seat post a bit unless the seat post is really tightened firmly. Also, because of the size of the board, I did have to adjust the position of the break lever to bring it out front as opposed to underneath the handle bars. However, I don't view these as problems with the rack itself. There would be no issues with a short board. I can't speak to longevity at this time as I've gotten through only one summer with it, but the rack does seem sturdy. The bungee cords and the hooks they attach to seem the most likely parts to fail first.
