Games Workshop Warhammer Middle Earth - The Lord of the Rings Battle of Pelennor Fields (Anglais)

After getting back into WH40K I turned my gaze to middle earth for a change of pace. This is a great starter box and comes with so much content for the price.2 decent sized armies with heroes and some modification options as well as all the little extras GW are known for with their starter sets.The sculps are very dated, they still look great but this is not a huge upgrade like indomitus was, most of these models have been around for years but that adds a bit of retro charm to them.By far the rules are much easier to follow and get into than WH40K in my opinion and I prefer the layout of the MESBG rulebook and quickstep guide.If you are looking to get into tabletop wargaming or just want to try something a bit different, this is a great place to start.

Bought as a birthday present, as it was asked for. Being a collector of some of the games workshop Lord Of The Rings it does look impressive. But I am really here to praise the seller at how fast they got it to me and at a very reasonable price. I will be back. Guaranteed.

A great kit, amazing value for money, it’s everything you need to play (excluding terrain that you can get later once you have played it a bit) comes with all the rules you need and a few scenarios to play. Highly recommended

Good, fast delivery and all is fine, apart from the mini booklet, which was torn, looks like it may have had tape on it, then pulled off resulting in a tear. Everything else in top notch condition. Price, I'd shop around, as i found a cheaper price elsewhere. Product its self, fantastic value for money, you get over 250 odd pounds of models for less half that!

First off, the only negative reviews appear to be from people who didn’t realize this is a miniature war game, and as such, requires assembly, tools, painting and the learning of a lot of rules to play! So, don’t buy this thinking you can just open it up and play right away, or that you can gift it to a kid and expect them to be able to know what to do with it without help or prior experience.That disclaimer out of the way, this is a really great set and a fun game. It comes with a ton of miniatures, all on sprues, and also the bases, dice, measurement tools, and a very beautiful thick hardcover rule book. The miniatures are well done and the cave troll and witch king on fell beast are particularly awesome. The horses are great too.Note that miniatures are 28mm and true scale. This means the faces are tiny! Coming from Star Wars Legion I was surprised by this. It takes some skill to paint these well. Fortunately you have a lot of models to practice on!The rule book is particularly magnificent and much appreciated (again coming from Legion and Armada, which don’t even bother giving you a real rule book). It is beautifully made with tons of photographs from the movies. It’s almost like a coffee table book.That being said, to have all the stats for all the armies beyond this starter, you will need to buy one of the armies books, like the Armies of LOTR book. That books is great too though. This set does come with a short booklet that has stats on the figures contained in this box and a few scenarios.You will not have enough models to play a full 500 point game with this box alone. This is mainly because you need an extra hero or two. Heroes can only command so many warriors, so technically Theoden can’t command all of the 24 Rohan warriors and riders in the box. So you’ll need to pick up Eomer or Eowyn etc.Lastly you do not need to buy this starter to play Middle Earth Strategy Battle Game. You can just buy the rulebook, army book, and then collect models as you wish. So if you don’t want to use Rohan, the warriors of the dead, or the orcs in this set, it may not be worth it for you. For me, getting started, it is really great!If you’re looking to play, go on Facebook and search for MESBG or post on the discord of your local gaming store. There are players all over.

Es ist alles dabei, was für den Start benötigt wird:- Figuren (gut und böse)- Würfel- Maßbänder- Lebenspunkte- Regelwerk als Hardcover- Anleitung für den Zusammenbau der Figuren- KampagnenbroschüreDer Guss der Figuren ist sehr fein und detailliert. Sehr gute Qualität.Als Hinweis für Einsteiger in das Hobby: die Figuren müssen noch zusammengebaut und ggf bemalt werden. Aber das ist ja auch einer der besonderen Reize von Tabletop spielen. Der Zusammenbau ist einfach und erfordert nicht viel Übung.Das Regelwerk ist einfach zu verstehen. Die Ausführung absolut hochwertig (Hochglanz und dickes Papier; sehr guter farbiger Druck).Fazit:Klare Empfehlung für dieses tolle Starterset.
