Wireless Door Window Gap Magnet Sensor Detector for PiSector Security Alarm Systems

This review covers the entire PiSector GSM system that I recently installed. This is the third brand of security system that I have installed over a 13 year period, starting with a low-tech X-10 system lacking the GSM features, and a Fortress system, which I installed in my daughter's home that had more features than the X-10, but also not having GSM. The PiSector is a very sophisticated system for the price. I have read other reviews and found that some of the issues noted could have been resolved if the owners had read the instructions carefully. The pre-programmed components facilitate the installation process. I have chosen the U.S. Mobile Sim card that seems to have great coverage. The texting and phone call messaging are effective. Would have given it 5 Stars, except for several minor issues. The indoor siren did not function properly and one of the motion detectors was inconsistent in performance and it sent an alarm message to us while we were away. Since none of the window or door alarms were activated we were comfortable that it was just a fluke. PiSector replaced these units willingly. They we shut down for a summer holiday so it took a few weeks to sort it out. But, all is well.Comparing the choices, X-10 advertises a GSM model but it has terrible reviews. Fortress is pretty good, but the reviews of its GSM model are just OK. Base upon features, price and quality, I would recommend PiSector. Read all of the documentation well before beginning and you will save lots of time and possible frustration. By the way, the tape they supplied is very strong - be sure to clean the surfaces on which the tape is to be applied with alcohol for maximum bonding. I had a hard time removing a sensor that I later decided to relocate.

Overall system is exactly what I expected and is working.However, The indoor alarm stopped working after a few days... contacted customer support,...phone number did not connect, so I had to email company. They did respond within a couple days and heard my issue. and replied to me via email to troubleshoot. They sent me a new indoor alarm about a week later after they deemed it to was a dead alarm. So customer service, although unreachable by phone, does eventually respond and make it right.My only complaint:Note, the built in battery for the Display/Control panel only lasts about 3-4 hours..., then dies... so there is really no way to use this without having it plugged in constantly, or figuring out a way to hard wire it.I was hoping I could take this panel with me from ktichen to bedroom during night time for ease of use, but with a the very short battery life, this is really not feasible.Not sure if this is normal, but perhaps PISECTOR will chime in after I send them this review. So far happy and pleased... still have not hooked up a sim card inside to use the remote call out functions, and still have not placed the motion detectors up yet as we are still painting all the walls. Once done, I will follow up with a more through review after all functions are tested.

What a rip. Somehow I thought I was getting a 4 pack but to my surprise there was only one in the box so I checked and yes it was $20.00 for a single transmitter. You get 10, plus 3 motion detectors plus a main controller plus a bunch of cheap plastic crap plus a manual for $300.00 and you can buy all that without the sim capability for $200.00 so where in there wildest imagination do they think a single transmitter is worth $20.00 especially when you just laid out $300.00 and was short a single transmitter.I'm going to go back and change my review for the kit just because of this predatory pricing.

Have had this system a little over a year now. The system itself works pretty well, but does not seem to have any way of indicating whether sensors are working. This is the third time I have had sensors quit working with nothing to tell me that a zone was unprotected. Purchase price is reasonable, but at 20.00 each you could easily spent more than the cost of the complete kit in only a few years. Junk sensors can’t be trusted to be reliable.

Pros: Everything works as described. Makes calls & sends messages quickly. The remote controls are RF so they transmit through doors and walls well. Directions are clear and easy to follow.Cons: Sound quality is poor and the double sided tape is worthless. I had the motion sensors and then the magnets on the door & window sensors start falling off and sending false alarms. I recommend this product but advise that you buy a good quality double sided foam tape, like 3M, to stick them up with.I would recommend to a friend.

They work well but the magnet is too thick to fit between the panes of a modern double-hung window. I used a bench grinder to grind about 1/8" of plastic off the sides to make them fit so I was able to redneck rig them, but it's silly to have to do that...the magnets aren't too big, just the plastic around the magnets. I reported this to the company so maybe they'll change the design to make them thinner at some point.

Giving it one stars because they only last about less than 1 year. I got this system exactly a year ago the whole kit and the sensors at about the yr mark goes out. I happened to be near one when it happened and heard and saw a spark and then the sensor went dead new batteries but nothing would never work again. this is the 2nd one ive replaced i dont know if i will keep pisector much longer alot of money for the sensors to fail in a year

Works as advertised the magnets even falls off as the reviewers said giving false alarms but the motion detectors tell me the sticky on the mags failed and no burglary was in progress!Definitely get better glue on these magnets to stop 2am false alarms !
