Rotring Rapid Pro Mechanical Pencil, 0.7mm, Silver

I have used lots of pentel and staedler pencils before but ROTRING RAPID PRO/ROTRING 600 IS THE BEST and this statement is gonna remain universal untill the end of time. IT WILL MAKE YOU QUIT YOUR PARKER PEN AND ADOPT THE PENCIL WAY OF WRITING. ☺ ------------------------------------------------------------ CONS The single con of this pencil is the screws joint behind the red ring (refer my attached images) that is made of plastic, metal would have been nice but considering you don't need to unscrew it very often it would still go strong for lifetime.

I have been using this pencil for over two years now, it looks great, feels great, writes great. It is a bit on the heavier side but will not offset you, so do not let the weight dissuade you. Read no further go for it and you will not regert buying it.

Upon grasping the pencil in my hand, I was pleasantly surprised by the weight which, in my opinion, feels just right. It has a good balance to it. I almost cannot tell if it is bottom-heavy or top-heavy. The knurling on the grip is neither too fine nor too coarse for my taste. It is grippy enough without feeling like a file against your fingers. Although, if you are prone to having sweaty palms(or feel that the knurling is not coarse enough for you), you might like the knurling on the rOtring 600 which has the only downside of having a non-retractable tip that renders it less pocket-friendly and more prone to breakage on the sleeve when dropped. The lead advance is quite granular i.e., 10 clicks of the push button gives you about 0.6 cm of lead on an average which, in my opinion, is perfect. The clicking mechanism is satisfactorily sure-sounding. All in all, considering that the Rapid Pro has a retractable tip and is an all metal construction (inner working components being brass, if I am not mistaken), this is a great mechanical pencil for everyday use. Also, the pencil looks stately in the matte-black colour.

A fine drawing instrument. There could be many brands that manufacture mechanical drafting pencils that look similar to the Rotring mechanical pencils, believe me, I have them too. But on the first touch, you can tell why Rotring has such a reputation.

It's amazing. But at the same time expensive.

We cannot compare this with the other products. Very good grip and finish. Only thing is high pricing.

At first i was using ordinary penpencil and my handwriting and drawing was tooo bad but now when i purchased this pencil not only my drawing was far far improved but i can also write aliens language and also draw things which from outside galary and also when i draw something it becomes real like that shakalaka boom boom thnx to pencil now i am learning mia khalifa drawing

The weight and feel of this pencil are perfect, making it an essential part of my design work. I mainly use it for note-taking and sketches and I buy the .7mm because it is less apt to snapping the lead. I WISH they made this pencil in .9mm for my red lead (red is even more fragile). I had a bonding moment with a client recently who pulled out a leather case with several Rotrings, in a variety of lead weights and we geeked out for a few minutes over how much we love these mechanical pencils.

This is an excellent lead holder/pencil for engineers and drafting. It's substantial (it's metal) but not overly heavy. It's heavier than the standard plastic-bodied Staedtler Mars Techno pencil which makes it feel better in the hand and seems to allow better control. It's got a very good knurled grip which is a bit rougher cut than the Staedtler too so it really stays put between your fingers and does not rotate or slip. If you've used the Mars Techno in the past, that's a fine lead holder too but this Rotring model just feels better, is more industrial and seems more purpose-built. The black matte finish is really pleasing to look at and hold. I've been an engineer for almost 40 years and this is probably the best pencil I've used. What's the one flaw? The knurled grip is a larger diameter than the Staedtler and it's too big to fit in the industry-standard Staedtler 502 sharpener! You are forced to use the included pointer tool in the base cap which is usable but not as handy as the 502 sharpener with the two levels of sharpening and cotton dust remover. So it's not as convenient to sharpen as the Mars Techno. I've had my sharpener since I started working 36 years ago and I'm kind of sad I can't use it with this great pencil. Otherwise, this is a fantastic lead holder/pencil. I would buy another if something happened to this one.

Amazing pencil. The build quality is spectacular and having a plunge style 2mm lead is much nicer then the drop style. One word of caution, don't purchase with the Staedtler sharpener. The barrel is larger then the opening of the sharpener so I had to drill out the plastic which took a bunch of time. I hear the Uni sharpener fits. (This may also not be a problem if you don't mind using the sharpener on the back of the pencil, I just find the small cap hard to hold)
