A must read
Again a very well written book by the author. In depth details of the life lived by Gangster Abu Salem using the underworld route.

My Name is Not Only Abu Salem
His life story is beyond the imaginations of bollywood directors. He established whip over entire mumbai and bollywood within a short time - within a blink of your eyes. However, like Ravanan he also fell prey to nets of a woman after which he changed his trajectory and ended up in jail. The author has done a wonderful job in writing the trilogy Black friday-My name is Abu salem-Dongri to dubai. It's worth the read for readers who are fond of biographies and crime stories - both fictious and non-fictitous.

Great than any news sources etc.
Awesome, fact is stranger than fiction. You will like it much more than any bogus crime/thriller. It's a true story so linking to the existing news and all gives you a pleasure. Great to see the nuances of film industry, mafias etc. It gives you real life account into1. Dons/mafias. There thinking. Social issues etc.2.. Terrorism, crime, communal clashes, fights, secular India etc. It gives you a glimpse into the life of how these people operate thinking etc.3. No news etc cover so much details.I definitely want to other other works to the same author.

Wrong information regarding product description.
The book is very good. Printing, text ETC is very good. Author and every thing is very good. The problem is that the Amazon has posted 288 pages (Book length) in product description and the actual pages is 248. We can understand difference of 5 to 8 or 10 pages but here the topic is for 40 pages. So please edit the product description thats it. Else every thing is V.good

Zaidi gave to Salem's demand and the result is a tedious task to read
There's nothing in the novel. The only interesting part is about Sanjay Dutt's involvement with Salem in arms deal, and Salem involvement with Bollywood and one of it's startlet Monica. The most of the part is boring and nothing new that you haven't heard. Again Hussain Zaidi's narrative doesn't work and is kind of a fact telling rather than making the thing more interesting. I think his background from being a former news editor is not helping him to develop his narrative and add layers to his storytelling. If you are planning to spend on this, find any other good Indian author and buy his book, rather than buying average books by overrated authors.

Silver line of a cloud
I will really appreciate Mr Zaidi's work. The storyline is well structured which gives it continuity episode by episode.I can say it's a readers delight. Mr Zaidi deserves an applaud.

OK book. Nothing great. May be educative for the uninitiated but if you have followed underworld via news papers etc. there is hardly any new info. Well organized and nicely presented in typical Zaidi style. Wish the author had added many other interesting aspects which appeared in media but missing from the book like the murder of Manisha Koirala's secretary, cop-abu salem nexus, enmity with D company. They all find only a passing mention. Looks like a one hell of a rush job to me. So only 3 star. Otherwise always given 4 plus to all Zaidi books. Book on Abu Salem could have been the most colorful book among any book about a don but for whatever reasons Zaidi has floundered such an opportunity.

The writing is at times sharp but tends to fall to street levels (he slept with ...). The details on Abu Salem tend to be sketchy .We see him as an apprentice and then we see him established in Dubai .The middle details are sketchy .How did he manage to amass this enormous fortune is not clear .We get to see a few Million worth of bussiness. This is a quickie built around thimblefulls of original material ,nevertheless a must read for all who have a perverse interest in the dark underbelly of Cruime.A shame on the political setup of India,a shame on the impotent venal political-police-official Thana auctioning zero conscience of the ruling class. The criminals could display a huge collection of AK 47 ,smuggle in tons of explosives with impunity .It is the Muslim minority that actually rules India and the pseudo secular Media keeps mum and amplifies pinpricks of the far right.SO be it

a detailed, slightly peppered study
This is the third book by Mr. Zaidi, that I am reading.... His encyclopaedic knowledge of the mumbai underworld has often left me spellbound to different segments of these books( Dongri to Dubai, Byculla to Bangkok and this one) segments where a little dramatisation adds to the factual( I'm hoping they are factual) creating an insightful journey into the lives of these people who chose to be on the other side of the law. The space and the narratives are quite unbiased and hence a great read... It's like a mirror to the underworld....there are some bits though, which get sketchy and chronologies are sometimes leapt through.... But then again these are facts that have been written as stories/biography. So maybe we should expect little pockets of loose ends...but that does not take away from the knowledge base that this book is. Kudos!

Good read
Short and crisp take on Abu Salem's career as Mafia. Typical Zaidi style of narration. It is a good read, but not as engaging as "Black Friday" and "Dongri to Dubai"

Not Gripping enough
The book is well researched but in places it is repetitive and more of a chronicle of events than a chilling narrative!
