Goodbye Mog: The illustrated adventures of the nation’s favourite cat, from the author of The Tiger Who Came To Tea

Goodbye Mog touched my heart. What a wonderful story for the end of Mog's life. Read with my 6 year old son as we had recently lost our own precious cat suddenly. Must admit there were many tears shed reading the story, but it made us both feel so much better about the transition. I am tearing up typing this review.

Sweet ending in the circle of life to a very special family pet.

This is an excellent book to explain the death of a pet to a young child. Our son has lost a good adult friend recently, and grandparents before that. He is 5 now so his ability to understand death is changing year by year. He has loved the Mog stories and continues to do so, even after this one. We got it from the library, he has been through stages of wanting and not wanting it. It seemed best to have our own copy and I wanted a used one as part of feeling death is a universal thing which happens to us all.Amazon gave me a good choice of used copies and this one was in excellent condition. I recommend this book.

Lovely beautiful story. I bought this book for the first time 15 yrs ago for my son. We had just lost our beautiful little dog, and it helped him to understand and accept the death of his little friends. As it helped my son then, I decided to give it as a present to one of my dearest friend!

Als eine neue Katze in die Familie kommt, hilft Mogs "Geist" ihr bei der Eingewöhnung.Bewertung:Wir lieben die Mog Bücher. Sie sind liebevoll gezeichnet und so gut beobachtet, dass wir darin unsere eigene Katze immer wieder erkennen. Da unsere Katze schon sehr alt ist, habe ich das Buch sofort bestellt, als ich es bei den englischen Büchern entdeckte, denn dieses Thema wird uns früher oder später auch betreffen. Als meine Kinder das Paket entdeckten, musste ich ihnen das Buch direkt vorlesen, obwohl ich es erst etwas zurück halten wollte. Wir sind darüber dann zu einem sehr guten und entspannten Gespräch über den Tod im allgemeinen und den möglicherweise baldigen unserer Katze gekommen. Die Kinder konnten sich sehr gut mit dem Gedanken anfreunden, dass man, wenn man eines langen Lebens müde ist für immer schlafen will. Und das die Erinnerung an ein geliebtes Wesen dafür sorgt, dass es "im Geiste" bei uns ist.Schade nur, dass es das Buch nicht in einer Deutschen Übersetzung gibt (mein Vorlesen ist dadurch etwas holprig). Aber dann wäre aus Mog wahrscheinlich wieder ein Kater geworden.
