Extremely difficult to find in stores, glad to have it, not thrilled by the +60% increase in price.
I love the "earthy" flavor of this herb, I mean it's right in the name ~ "Savory". I'm glad I was able to find it *somewhere*, yet wasn't thrilled by the about 60% increase in price from when I could find it in stores. I use it with basil and/or tarragon to flavor chicken and/or fish, with majoram to flavor beef vegetable stew.

Love love love this spice
Be careful when purchasing Savory, as plain Savory is more bitter and not as minty, and light as the Summer variety. I LOVE this in my pot roast. My daughter asked, "Mom, what do you put in your roast with veggies, mine doesn't taste like yours." I told her about this spice, and she now uses it, because I ordered some for her. I also purchased some seeds as it is now discontinued, and I cannot find it in the Meijer store where I first found it. It is definitely worth trying. Also, another thing about ordering spices, is that some brands contain sticks big enough to build a decent bird nest. Spice Island brand is nicely ground for a smooth addition to a great pot roast dinner.

Tastes great
I grew up eating lentil soup on a regular basis. I’ve continued this habit in my adulthood because not only is it a healthful part of a good diet but it tastes very good. Summer Davoelrt brings the taste up a whole level. I can’t imagine lentils without summer savory now.

hard to get in my area
For some reason the Safeway stores in my area don't carry Spice Islands. It isn't just my two local stores, it's all the stores within easy driving distance. But the Safeways outside my area do carry Spice Islands. Go figure. Anyway, I'd never heard of Summer Savory until I started cooking for myself and was rummaging through my wife's spice cabinet. I really like it, and I'll probably like it even better now that I'm using a bottle that isn't ten years old :-)

THE MORE SPICES THE BETTER
This spice has a lovely aroma and I was once given some by a friend but never saw it in the store. Sure to perk up a veggie dish.
