Works well with WinLIRC
I just got the device today and used it to control a Yamaha YAS-108 Sound Bar using the WinLIRC program on my PC. After a bit of figuring out the WinLIRC program, I was able to get it to work. Now I can control the sound bar with my PC.

Works great with latest linux kernel
took a while to figure using it with my pi-4b raspbian (linux distro) computer. but after the learning curve, its working great as an ir blaster to control multiple ir entertainment devices from a python program i wrote.lirc works fine if the irdroid shows up as a ttyACMx device, but with newer linux kernels, lirc is obsolete and deprecated. instead if irdroid shows up as a lircx device in the /dev directory, then you need to use the new lirc replacement tool 'ir-ctl'. which is good, because ir-ctl is easy to use.i downgraded review a star for their rotten outdated documentation.

Works as avertised
Mine didn't come with the clear blue enclosure as pictured.running Win 7Followed directions, downloaded drivers and software and source--The process is a bit cumbersome as I have several uncommon IR control devices that need to be programmed.hoping to be able to combine them all into one remote.cfgTested Learn and transmit with a simple IR Remote, seems to work with my equipment. Will look into modifying source to setup sequences and activities.
