Old, but gold! Best processor for lga775 socket motherboards.
For a 10 year old processor, it holds up really well. Since I have an old motherboard with an lga775 socket, I couldn't buy a G4560 as I wanted to, but this processor performs great. It won't bottleneck even a GTX 750ti as far as I know. For anyone else with an old motherboard, this would be the perfect upgrade. My rig:Processor: Q6600,ram: 8gb ddr3,Graphics card: Nvidia GT730 2gb gddr5Benchmarks: (@ 2.4 ghz)Gta 5: High settings 30+fpsArma 2 OA: Medium settings 40+fpsThe stock intel heatsink isn't sufficient but a decent cooler should do. It can overclock upto 3ghz. So if you have an old motherboard with an lga775 socket, go for it!!

Over heating, either get better cooler or undervolt
The price has increased since I purchased, it is just worth 900-1000 Rs. Not more.Processor was working perfectly, breathed a new life into a 10 year old desktop.Initially there were random shutdowns, sometimes even from bios the temps were as high as 95 degs.I didnt want to spend another 900 for decent cooler (Get antec a30 for Rs 900) so was looking at other optionsLuckily my motherboard supported undervolting, using which I reduced the voltage by -0.1V to 0.15 V. This lowered the power consumption, and also the heat production but no changes to performance.

It is second hand, DOES Not WORK
NO, don't go on other reviews... Do not buy this Processor at all. The sellersent me a non working Product... TWICE. Yes you read it right... The replacement was also not working. I had to struggle soo much to return my processor back. I am telling you, don't buy it. The processor is second hand, not new. The seller has not mentioned it anywhere.. it had scratches and thermal paste marks when delivered. It was also not in original packaging. It was delivered in two pieces of sponges duct taped together and did not work at all.. DO NOT BUY at any cost.

First research the max tdp of your motherboard before buying this
I bought this and popped it in my biostar g41d3c motherboard and received a beautiful max tdp of cpu is over95 watts error .I was disappointed like hell . Although this processor is a beast At this price range (competes lower gen i5 easily in processing power) its tdp is a bit (actually a lot) high so most older and weak lga775 motherboards dont support it.Just a heads up if ur buying this check you motherboard comparability with this cpu from its website. Later i bought a Zeb g41d3motherboard just for this processor and it works good

It's Good! The Seller is Trust-Worthy!
Q6600 definitely Heats like Crazy without proper Cooling! With Stock cooler the Q6600 would Reach 59 degrees on idle and 87 degrees on load! That's Insane! I do Regret Buying this just for that reason. But I knew what I was going for so I won't give this a bad rating... But I would've liked a dual core performer instead of this, just for the heating problem! The 5 stars are for the Packaging it came in and the condition of the chip. Enough said!

After 2 months usage
Good upgrade from Pentium Dual-Core to Core 2 Quad.Better for Gaming & Video editing than my previous processor.FPS boost in gaming. Good rendering speed in Video editing.Only issue is more heating problem in intel stock cooler.Use Copper based Cooler like Antec & needs good thermal paste. My Specs: - MSI G41M-P26 MoBo - Hynix 2x2gb Ram - Gigabyte 2gb graphics - 2 x 500gb HDD
