MTD Genuine Parts 19A30006OEM Mulching Kit for 42-inch Cutting Decks (2009 – 2011), Black

I used this on a troy-Bilt Pony 42" mower that was manuf in 2015. So this product fits that model and year. the Plug assembly is kinda of loose. The rubber strap holds it on but after some vibrqation it comes out. I drilled a small hole through the two bottom 'clips' on the plug all the way through the metal on the mower deck with a 5/16" bit. then put a couple zip ties on to secure it. Done and Done! Some people have complained that this mulching kit blade is taller than the normal blade, it is, but not by much maybe 1/4" taller. I also read people complaining that with the mower deck all the way up (highest mowing setting) that a lot of grass blows out from under the deck, i did NOT have this experience. i mowed all the way around my brick lined rock flowerbeds and yes a little blew out but not enough that couldn't be made disappear with the yard blower. Overall it took 25 minutes to remove the old blades and put these on. The old blades were torqued on pretty tight. I used a 3/4 black pipe over the rachet handle with the 15/16" socket to break the nut and remove.Your mowing deck underside WILL NEED to be CLEAN in order for these blades to turn, I believe they are longer by just a bit than the original. I had quite a bit of built up caked on grass under there I had to clean up. Over all very happy with this mulching kit - definitely recommend.

This product was use to mulch the leaves in my yard. Worked great!

Works with my Tractor Supply Huskee LT4200, with some added reinforcement.The blades fit and do a relatively good job.The plug fit, but I felt it needed added reinforcement.I drilled one hole on the left and right side of the plug's upper extremity, right through the deck and fastened with 3/8 cadmium-coated self tapping screws.Likewise, I drilled straight through the 2 lower ribs and deck lip and fastened with #8 cadmium-coated self tappers, for a total of 4 added self tapping screws.I did utilize the included rubber strap during installation, but experience tells me it will fail.

This kit replaces the blades and mulching cover for the TroyBilt Pony 42" riding mower. Of course, the blades will wear from normal use, but the reason a new mulch cover is needed is that it does not connect securely to the mower. TroyBilt provides a metal peg on the blade cover and an elastic strap to hold the cover in place. I found that this did not work at all well; so I've been using bungee cords to hold it on, but it still is likely to be dislodged by rubbing against trees shrubs, etc. If it gets pulled off too often, some of the tabs start to break off. If it is squeezed too tightly by the straps, the blade starts to cut into the back surface of the cover. All in all, it seems like a poor design, but you shouldn't operate the mower without the cover while you mulch. Without the cover, the mower can throw rocks, and the blade is exposed. I think this is the fourth cover that I've had to buy in about six years of ownership of the mower, and I don't mow that frequently.

I've installed this on my Cub Cadet LTX1042KW. Very simple to install with the right tools. I ended up not having the right socket for the nut on the blade. It ended up being a 15/16 on my Cub Cadet.I have a couple a cuts on my lawn and I wish I purchased this sooner. The cut looks so much better and my grass seems to be healthier. I am looking forward to seeing how it performs in the fall with the leaves.I feel it was a great purchase. We will see how the blades hold up over time, but they look to be pretty good quality.

I'm not handy whatsoever and it installed perfectly to my Huskee LT4200 with no hassles. I had to buy a few things to swap the blades, but that comes with the territory. A few words of advice from my experience - mulching is not for overgrown lawns unless you want tons of clippings sitting on top, it's best to do at most an inch of growth. Also, my mower feels horrendously underpowered for mulching, and really struggles to churn inside the deck when it's longer than an inch, so hopefully you have a better mower than I do!

Description claims that it fits 2010 and after 42" Troy-Bilt. The mulch plug does not fit my TB42. Please check your owner's manual for the proper mulch kit part number. I had already installed blades BEFORE I tried the plug. As luck would have it I tore up a tree root and bent the new blades, so I have an extra plug that doesn't fit and 2 new bent up blades. Lowes has the correct mulch kit.

Haven't changed the blades yet but used the insert by itself since I had all purpose blades installed. It works almost too well. Now I have to mow my grass more often. The insert was fairly easy to install and remove. It stays on well. The cost of the entire kit was about the same price as a new pair of blades at my local Loews so essentially the insert, which is what I really needed was free.

Fit under our club cadet just as described. Great product at a great price!
