The Coates family have produced this highest quality willow charcoal from their own renewable willow beds on the Somerset levels. The result is a superior vine charcoal, black in colour and smooth in texture as favoured by fine artist.

Willow Charcoal - a great buy
This was a great find and I'm so glad I bought these. If you like your charcoal encased in a wooden pencil this is not for you as your fingers will get clarty using it, but,dirty fingers aside, go for this if you're into charcoal drawing. It's fantastic. A great buy, efficiently delivered and is local. The people who are in Somerset, make this stuff using their own willow, so we're not exploiting some country who can ill afford it so we can draw pretty pictures.

Average but good charcoal sticks.
Just your average charcoal sticks. They work very well. Ideally I like to buy sets with various kinds of charcoal in, but this set did its job.
