I had been searching online for Iranian Mazafati dates for some time, since first buying some fresh at a farm shop last year. IMHO these are the best dates: sweet, juicy, full of flavour, and completely irresistible.These are nothing like the shrivelled, dry things you buy in supermarkets, masquerading as dates. Whilst occasionally you might find reasonably moist medjool dates, the majority are better for cooking than eating as dessert dates.Mazafati dates knock all of the others into a cocked hat, although I have to confess that I haven’t tried Safawi yet.Try these - you won’t be disappointed.

Delivery was prompt but I've had better quality dates even including this brand. These tasted just very slightly dry, as if they were a bit old although they were well within their use by date.

Good fresh tasty dates, not the usual sticky, shiny supermarket versions.Just like I remember them from living in Iran. Well done!
