Cora Gu [Handmade Dress Fit for 12" Doll] The Handmade Grey Comet Longtrain Dress Fit for 12" Fashion Doll(Dolls' not Included)

This dress is a little "pricey" (considering that I've purchased Mattel Barbie dolls wearing dresses just as nice as this one for the same price that I paid for this dress alone), but it's very glamorous, and looks just as I envisioned it would on my 2016 Birthday Wishes Barbie, so for me, it was worth it. I'm including photos of it on three different Barbie body types so you can decide "who wore it best." The dress itself is a tight-fitting, stretchy sequined sheath, with a long train of mesh layers. The mesh is soft, so the train drapes nicely. The dress fastens in the back with two sewn-in metal snaps, which I have seen on 1960's Mattel-made Barbie clothes and more recent adult-collector-quality Barbie clothes, as opposed to Velcro closures usually seen on lower-priced items. In addition to 2016 Birthday Barbie (long hair), which has the body type which I believe is known as the "model muse Barbie body," I also tried the dress on 1993 Kenyan Barbie (typical 90's Barbie body) and the 2015 Lily James as Cinderella bride doll (the Mattel version, as opposed to the Disney version), which I think is the typical current-day Barbie body. The dress was very easy to put on the 2016 Birthday Barbie and fit perfectly in the bust but loosely in the hips. On the 2015 Lily James Cinderella, it was difficult to get the dress over the hips but once on, it fit great through the bust and hips. It puckered a little between the two snaps in the back. These two Barbie bodies are made of hard, smooth plastic with legs that don't bend. The 1993 Kenyan Barbie has bendable legs made of a more rubbery material, and it was difficult to get the tight, stretchy sheath over the rubbery legs. Once on, it looked great, but was slipping off of her bust. Based on the doll modeling the dress in the Amazon listing, I think this dress was designed with the "model muse" Barbie body in mind. Anyway, I absolutely love how this dress looks on my 2016 Birthday Wishes Barbie, especially with her pink stiletto pumps and pink lipstick, so I'm very happy with this purchase!

this is a beautiful dress, and a nice departure from most of the Cora Gu dresses. it is very well made and the tulle in the back is very pretty. the only reason I did not give it 5 stars is that the bottom of the dress at about ankle length is so tight that it will not fit some barbies. I tried it in several dolls and only liked the fit on the smaller ones like the model muse barbie body. the one I got was too small for silkstone classic body.

Pretty, fits MIZI doll as well. Very narrow at ankle, dolls feet won't set side by side they have to be one foot in front of the other. Beautiful fabric.
