I love it, the radio works on GMRS, Ham and commercial frequencies. I even tested it out on public safety radio frequencies. this radio is perfect for hobby and professional lifestyle, you can use this for all your trucks or keep in touch with all your friends. if you are volunteer firefighter, ambulance service or any rescue service this is perfect to put in your vehicle, it's size you could put it almost anywhere.

Nice for the money. Heard of others transmitt going out after a while witch might be cause the cooling fan only operates while you are transmitting and stops when you release the Mike button. I would have thought it should have been controlled by a heat sensor inside the radio.Update: found out the fan comes on when it gets too hot from the sun beating on it so the fan does have a temp control inside the radio.

Hardware wise great radio. Really outstanding audio easy to use.. However, manual program by the manual is terrible instructions once figured out menu is easy to use. I did not use a software program since the software i purchased did not support winxp or win 7 .

Great little radio . Some of the abbreviations in the manual made no sence to me but there is plenty of advice online . I found the Chirp program very useful for setting up the memory frequencies . Good audio and good reports on the other end. I use several vehichles at work and it is very easy to transfer from one to the next. A little velcro will hold it in place .The lighter plug is light wieght and broke but if you plug it in and leave it , it would be fine .

Was a great little radio. After 3 months stopped working . Would not transmit. Microphone issues. Just not a good radio. Also drifted off frequency. Power level was not correct. While it worked for a couple of months it was alright. I would not buy this radio. Save your money. Maybe an anytone. They also do not respond to your emails.

Very difficult to program. Poor instructions. Had to buy cd and cable separate which should have come with radio.Will go with better brand next time and better support

I like the price and 220mhz abilities! It might be usable in some situations. The scan feature is useless, because the squelch will for some reason open on each frequency making it far too slow and noisy. The selector nob will erratically go up and down even though you are turning it one direction. Programming this is basically impossible without a cable and chirp program. The speaker stopped working after a few days, I'm hoping I can re-solder it because it seems it can't be exchanged only refunded and the price went up.

Excellent good value you can enter or change frequencies with or with out PC. Another thing I like is changing the power high or low with #lock key. No need to reprogram.
