The Waltons: Season 2

This series is just right for families to watch and people tike me who enjoy episodes that come out with good message and good feelings.. There are no obscene scenes, no foul language, the family is a loving, normal life of a large family in the worst of times, hard working, facing times of no money, no grandiose illusions. This family was caring for one another helping others when they could, and encouraging others to make the better choices. Lessons we all can benefit from, this life is not “all about me”. it is not about getting rich, it is about living love, respecting God and learning to live in obedience to the law, and enjoying doing the right thing and holding others to that same standard. Building up, Encouraging , and helping each other grow to be the best person you can be. Great lessons!

The episode titled "The Separation" did not play well. It was pixilated, but all the rest of the episodes played great. Thank you!

A person could get lost if he really didn't know anything about life and living. These stories try to be true to life but even at thestart of each episode the same Model "A" Ford Truck is used and you can hear the honking Ahooga Horn but the horn isn'thanging below the driver's side Head Light where the original Spartan Model "A" Ahooga Horn should be hanging. You alsonotice that the original "32" Ford Head Lights disapear as the series progresses and Model "A" Lights appear on the "32"Sedan Delivery (Panel Truck). They may even be with Sealed Beam Conversion Kits, I can't really tell? I think it's fun to lookat some of these period things like The Color Purple, for instance, that has Oprah riding around in a "One of A Kind" Model "A"Ford 28 or 29 Deluxe Phaeton. The Deluxe Phaeton was only made in 1930 and 1931! 5,000 units each year! It's fairly obvious, The Deluxe Phaeton had a single door on each side of the vehicle but the 28 or 29 Phaeton was a Four DoorVehicle or Two doors on each side. Yankee Doodle Dandy has a 1930 or 1931 Deluxe Phaeton in one of it's last sceneswhen the Teenie Boppers show up they are driving it, but it has a Chevy (Chevrolet) front end on it. The distinctive gasfiller cap is in plain view on top of the cowel in front of the windshield as on all Model "A"s, Not Chevys! It's fun to find all ofthese Boo, Boos! There really are a lot of them if you know what to look for on Walton's Mountain. It's sad to say but noneof the vehicles used in Walton's Mountain are really in the shape they should be for being less than ten years old (Most ofThem)? John Boy's Coupe looked a lot better Green than when he painted it that nasty yellow color. It really makes youwonder if these props were pulled and pushed off and on stage or if they really ran?

Good series

This episode was so unbelievably secular. No God fearing family that believes in Jesus Christ would have tolerated that Ouija board being brought into the house, and they made it look like John Boy was completely clueless about Scripture, which would not have been the case. The writer{s} of this episode had absolutely NO knowledge of Scripture. What a true disappointment.

No cussing! Love it, no woke bs to have to turn off.

My a huge Walton fan. I like all their shows

Bought this as a gift for my wife, so can't really comment on the Waltons as I don't know much about the series, other than good 'ol John Boy! . Anyway, this boxset comes in a neat plastic DVD case, which as you can see in my picture has separate dual sided trays for each disc, so they won't get scratched, unlike some case designs (usually the very slim ones) where the discs overlap. It was delivered quickly, the audio / visual quality is very good for a series this old, and so very happy for the price.

I bought it for the wife because she remembers liking it as a child. There's no sex, violence, murder or coarse language. I made fun of it at first, but then I started to watch it when she put it on. I began to enjoy it. A couple of the stories were far-fetched, but mostly they are good. The characters and the actors are excellent.

This item is part of the wonderul Waltons series. I love everything about this series. The storylines are very strong and this series gives you the ability to follow the life and times of the family from the early days when the children were very young to when the children grew up and became adults and parents themselves. This was a long standing series and each episode was well written and well acted and I looked forward to seeing each episode.

this is a carry on from the first series and is excellent viewing with good stories that all the family should enjoy. the sound on some of the discs is not perfect but didnt spoil the enjoyment. my big disapointment was in finding out that the complete series (dvd) sets ends after series 4, as i would have liked to been able to buy all the series up until the end. that said i will still buy series 3+4 and hope that in the future the rest of them are relesed for uk use.

Yes its old fashioned, yes it is cheesy, but their are values here and lessons to be learned. One of the episodes (the song) was so bad I couldn't watch it, but all the others I have enjoyed. A few days feeling sorry for myself recovering from a bout of the flu, fun and games on Walton's Mountain was as good as a tonic (or a drop of the recipe straight from the Baldwin sister's still).
