Late, yet Wonderful Follow-up of Volume 1
Same great quality reproduction as Vol. 1. The Moench/Jones run on Batman is legendary, so I won't expand on my Vol. 1 review. I will say that it is strange this volume only reprints the covers sans title and text. I love the art; however, it would have been nice to have the cover as originally found on the stands. Having said that, grab this while you can. The first volume is out of print. (It was printed in 2014) My only wish now is that Graffiti Designs follows this with another Gallery Edition, as they did with vol. 1.

Batman in the 90s, baby, yeah!
This is what 90s Batman means to me! One of the greatest teams in comics history in one of the greatest runs on the Dark Knight Detective. The stories are so fun and the art is a thing of real beauty. I wish comics were this good again.

A Beautiful Volume.
A great bargain on glossy paper of a seminal Batman run.

Unflattering art but decent story
This large Batman collection is spotlighting the run of Doug Moench & Kelley Jones. They had a big part of Batman's stories in the 90s. Here, its an eclectic mix of old and new. Some old classic villains from Batman's rogues gallery, Penguin, Joker, Man-Bat, & Clayface with some great guest stars like Ragman, Spectre, and Etrigan. We also get the first appearances of two great female characters, Cameron Chase and Vesper Fairchild. I liked the stories overall, but Kelley Jones' art has never been my cup of tea. While his Batman can look spooky, his characters faces are so distorted it takes away from the story. Its quite jarring. The collection is a decent read but definitely a must read for Batman fans.

One of the best Batman teams of all comics!
Well, out of the two volumes I have to say this one stands better than the first.I could natter about this comic for ages, I mean, just look at the cover! It speaks volumes and it shows a darker Batman. We follow right on from vol 1.This is a brilliantly dark Batman. After Bane breaks Batman’s back, he changes his appearance to look more frightening. The look hasn’t aged well I have to admit, but it’s very nineties and it worked well back then. It’s a very nostalgic read for me, because this was one of my favourite Batman runs.Vol 1 is now an exuberant price, so do you need vol 1 to match vol 2? No. Not at all. If even say this volume is the better of the two.We get a lot of Det. Bullock, a lot of Horror and supernatural elements and it’s very dark.I wish we could get Moench’s other Batman run, but this is my favourite. We also get introduced to Vesper Fairchild, a character that plays out a lot in the up and coming arcs to follow. You also get singular issues that tie into bigger events, but the stories play out well enough. This blends into Batman:Contaigon, then Batman:Legacy and then it’s Aftershock/Cataclysm and No Mans Land.Thankfully the issues I mentioned are all in print and available.Moench and Jones (Sounds like a detective show!) made a great team. They brought a nice flavour of supernatural to the mix, they added gangsters, they had serial killers and the art of Jones just compliments the stories so well. The covers and variants are my all time favourites! The covers are just creepy and beautifully drawn! The book is a lovely hardcover, nice enough dust jacket. The pages are nice and thick and the page count is generous and it ends this wonderful Batman for Moench and Jones. As I said, you don’t need to get volume one.If you’re looking for continuity then after this we go to Aftershock/Cataclysm.Contagion and Legacy come first and are tied into the first volume with the tie in issues. So it goes Contaigon, Legacy, this volume 2, then Aftershock/Cataclysm and then No Mans Land.Thank you for reading
