Former Resident of Helena
I love Helena! And I have this 4 stars, one for reminding me of the fascinating architecture there and the incredible history. Am familiar with many of these places and been in some of them. Good book relating many stories I wasn't aware of. Thank you!

Perfect Addition to Montana Ghost Story Books
This was a wonderful blend of historical background and uber creepy ghost tales. I've always enjoyed Ellen Baumler's tales of haunted Montana and this addition doesn't disappoint. It probably didn't hurt that I was reading this as my family and I were traveling to and experiencing the haunted historical ghost tour in Helena itself; I was able to physically visit at least one locale in this volume. Ellen creates a balance between her historical facts and her ghost details in such a way that the reader isn't swamped by either end of the spectrum. Iβd definitely recommend this volume to anyone looking to bone up on haunted Montana.

Fun if Incomplete
As the daughter of Helena Montana ghost hunters I was a bit disappointed by the thinness of this volume and the lack of research into some of the older ghost stories that abound in Helena (the ghost of St. Charles Hall at Carroll College comes to mind). I did enjoy the pictures and the personal nature of the writing.

Very interesting read although I have never encountered any ghosts ...
Very interesting read although I have never encountered any ghosts in public places in Helena. Going to check out the cemeteries. We did have a ghost in a newer home on 8th Avenue that is now a state office.
