Easy to use, Simple USB remote is nice
I put this directly on top of a 8" carbon filter (vertically oriented). So far, it seems to work as well as the Can Filter it replaced. It had what looked like a little black weight clipped to one of the fan blades, and it didn't come off when I gave it a light tug so I just left it there. So far it seems to be running well so I guess it was a weight put on to balance the blade. I like that the remote plugs into the unit via USB-C, and that the cable is ~10ft long. (I operate this in my bedroom from my bed, so that's perfect). If you need this to run any more complicated cycles than 10 ON 50 OFF, you'll want the more expensive control unit. For my purpose this is great. I'm using it to replace a Can Fan that I think was destroyed by a Speedster (doesn't want to turn on anymore). I like the EC motor that seems to be able to run reliably at low speed seeing as ALL fans this size and bigger are loud at full power (this fan isn't loud, but don't expect to sleep next to it at speed 4 or greater). It's mostly synthetic material with plastic fan blades, whereas the Can Fan was all metal, but it makes this fan considerably lighter than the Can, and if it's rated at 1/3 the power consumption it's saving me money. It seems to move as much air as the CanFan, so if it lasts at least as long I will be pleased. So far I'm happy.

Perfect exhaust fan for airbrushing
I’m not using this in a grow tent — I set it up as an exhaust for my airbrush station where I paint my models (3d printed an adapter that connects to this). Works way better than I expected. The fan pulls fumes and overspray out quickly, and with the speed controller I can keep it low and quiet or crank it up when I’m doing longer sessions. Noise is minimal (more of a steady hum), and it doesn’t rattle or vibrate like cheaper fans I’ve tried. Installation was simple with ducting, and the compact size makes it easy to fit in small setups. I've got this running into a 5-gallon bucket filled with water to capture the paint particles. If you’re into airbrushing and need a reliable exhaust solution without spending a fortune, this little fan is a solid pick. Feels like it's made from Sturdy metal and for the price this is a no brainer. I've paid more for less

FANTASTIC exhaust fan for laser engraver!
Ramping up my laser engraving business required me to find some kind of exhaust fan to handle the fumes/smoke. I was extremely pleased to come across this one! Well built and VERY quiet in the lower speeds. Even at the lowest speed, it will easily handle the smoke for simple engraving. Upping the power to around 5-6 vastly increases the air flow while staying tolerably quiet. At its highest speed, it's a BEAST. I hadn't secured on vent coupler and it blew it off! While this is not the cheapest fan you'll find on Amazon, I feel it's a very good value and the build quality should provide years of carefree service!

Quiet, powerful and flexible
Great fan design, pretty quiet on first two settings (you almost can't hear it in a quiet room) in free air, let alone with it connected up, some minor bearing noise which you get with ball bearing fans, I wish there was a sleeve bearing version (with oil included for people and instructions to oil regularly). Controller works great (E42) and is fast and accurate (no waiting for temp/RH changes) but wish it had CO2 measurement and support for a generic 10V dimming output for other leds/custom ones. I'll do some snooping and see how it's working so far if PWM or voltage based, I'm sure the CS at Vivosun will tell me if I ask, they are great. Overall probably the best bang for buck if you want a quiet fan. G4 is their quietest fan. Db rating I'd say is likely accurate when the fan is mounted properly (suspend/isolate it) and with a filter or piping etc.

Powerful
Awesome little fan. I got it because the cfm was a bit more than another fan I had. But I think I’m going to have to use both anyway because it’s a big room I gotta clear in my cigar lounge. Great fan though. Definitely worth the money

Best one yet
I have gone through 5 of these type fans and yes I been buying the cheaper ones, but this one is nice. It's built well and the fan blade is balanced, that's really the only thing I care about. Because when there slightly off the vibration can travel and pretty noisy. I use them for ventilation in my work shop. I'll would have two one that vents to the outside and then one with the carbon filters that stays vented inside. This one moves a good amount of air and not to noisy. I like the controller hooks up USB ,newer cell phone style.i can't give you technical jargon but it's nice

It works well
Very adjustable. On the lower settings it still moves a lot of air but is quiet and that the higher settings it's much louder but moves and unbelievable amount of air

I use it to vent out my laser engraving/cut machine and it works really well. It is powerful and quiet enough up to level 7 and a bit louder (not much) at 8/9. Level 6 and 7 are enough for my needs. easy to use, use to install, quiet enough to run indoors. Great value for the money.

I'm using this a as boost fan (for a bedroom that was cold in winter) in my residential HVAC system. I'm only using it on lower settings (max 4 on the controller). At these speeds, the unit is VERY quiet and very low power.

Very strong for its small size, a great purchase... a little noisy at full strength but the decibel level lowers considerably if you lower the speed... Very happy with this incline fan
