Ultralight Sunset

I have had this mouse for about 15 months, serving both as daily driver as well as being perfect for twitch style FPS aiming. Over the last 3 years, I have had at least 20 mice to find one that suits my large hands + fingertip grip (minority group). My previous choice was Zowie FK2.With this final mouse, I feel I'm not making major compromises anymore: it's light, tracks very well, my hit stats are up , there's minimal fatigue during longer use and it's an awesome colour. The only downside is that the cable is too stiff, which sometimes plays up: I would have preferred super smooth and flexible.

The cable is absolutely terrible. It ruins the whole "weightless" experience and just tugs and drags, even with a cable-bungee. The aspect of it is awesome. Extremely light mouse, plug in and ready to game, no software or drivers to install. The manufacturer cheaped-out on the materials, giving you a mouse with flimsy and poorly made plastic, that probably cost them a few cents. The feet on the bottom are not good at sliding on mouse mats, give more of a scratching feeling. It has a cheap scroll wheel that doesn't scroll well, feels flimsy, and pushing it in as a button is so bad I had to unbind that key from my games. It has various DPI settings that are all preset, and can be cycled through with the push of a button located under the scroll wheel. The sensor is so bad that after about 2 months of use it begins jumping from various DPI settings, without clicking the button. This happens while browsing the web, or while in the middle of a game or app. Basically a lot of the product has this problem because they made them so cheaply, and a lot of customers are not happy, especially after waiting 4 months to get the product after buying it. The manufacturer's customer service team is essentially non-existent, and doesn't like giving people refunds or even replacements. They make you jump through tons of steps before determining they won't repair or replace the product. Don't listen to popular streamers, or mouse reviewers online. They were all paid a huge sum of money to promote the products like they are the best things ever created. They are so cheap to make, but so expensive to buy. That's a lot of spending money to get those good promotions. I see the price of even used ones on various websites is hundreds of dollars. I bought mine new for $90 from the manufacturer, and you are better off buying a cheap gaming mouse for under $60 then spending the money only to be unhappy after a few weeks.

I am pasting my review of the black version and will add notes for the Sunset editionI have used this mouse regularly for a week. I own many high end mice. This is probably the best mouse I own for FPS. My hand size is 21x10.5 and I palm/fingertip grip. The mouse has been comfortable for extended play sessions and is almost unnoticeable in use because of the light weight. It took a couple of hours to get used to the weight, most of my other mice are between 85-95 grams. Materials are a hard plastic, nothing super grippy but not slippery at all IMO. The honeycombs are not noticeable in use and the overall build of the mouse is quite sturdy for the size and weight. My M1 and M2 buttons are very good. Not super easy to press like my g203 and not zowie hard. The buttons are probably a notch below the g403. The side buttons were a surprise, both in click feel and positioning. I can naturally click both with my thumb without and extra effort. Probably the best overall side buttons I've used in terms of size, quality of click and placement. I also do not find issue with the scroll wheel, scrolling is nice and the click is deliberate, no accidental clicks. I could see clicking the middle button and accidentally scrolling up as a potential issue, but I think that's possible with any mouse. I typically assign the middle button to something that isn't used often so that could be why I don't have issues with it. The mouse feet were fine on my copy, no scratching, but maybe not as smooth as others I've used. I replaced mine with g203 hyperglides and the mouse moves quite smoothly and fast. I'm using a Mionix Alioth mouse pad. The only big negative is the cord. It's stiff, like wire stiff. Using a mouse bungee definitely helps and it hasn't hindered my play, but overall I'm surprised they didn't use a more flexible car, especially given the weight of the mouse. Overall this mouse is excellent. There are not squeaks or rattles and this is a very well put together mouse. The sensor is top notch and tracks excellent. I personally like no software and having preset dpi settings since I only use 800 dpi. The 500mhz hasn't been an issue with me, maybe if I had a 240mhz monitor. I hear a utility is being developed to change the polling to 1000mhz. Also, another negative would be that I consider this an FPS only mouse. Great for games like Overwatch and Quake. I have other mice for other genre of games.I own/have owned the following mice: g703, g203, Roccat Kone EMP, sensei 310, cooler master mm530, Nixeus Revel, ZA12, g403, EC1-B and DM Comfy.UpdateI enjoyed the mouse so much I bought the Sunset version too! The main difference between this and the other models is the coating and color. There is a very subtle rubber coating on the Sunset edition. It's not a huge difference from the regular plastic but it's there. I think where you feel the difference is when your hand warms up a bit, the coated mouse just feels slightly better to grip. You can feel the coating compared to the smooth plastic of the regular model, both are good, the Sunset is just a bit better.The other difference between models is the color. I really like the orange because all my other mice are black or white. The orange is a nice change. The only drawback is that it really doesn't have any of my other equipment. That might matter for some people.Another difference, which may just be subjective is that the cable doesn't feel as stiff as my black version. I don't know if the is due to my version or if all the newer batches are getting less stiff cables, which I read the manufacturer was looking to address after all the complaints about the original cableOther things I've noticed with extended use.-middle button click is mushy and very difficult to press without the wheel moving. If you have something bound to the scroll, there is a good chance it will be activated whenever you press the middle button.-button clicks have remained crisp. I really like the tension and clickiness of M1 and M2. I also really like the placement of the side buttons. M4 is easy to press naturally with my thumb.-I haven't noticed issues with dirt on the PCB, but have read about it online. Doesn't appear to be a big deal, nothing some bursts of compressed air can't fix.-I still really like the mouse and feel the Sunset was worth it for me. I'm glad I was able to get a copy, I know supply has been very limited due to popularity

Was pretty cautious at first, I had read many nightmare stories about Finalmouse (their products just as much as their service). I'll try to address the negatives I'd read versus my experience with the mouse after a bit over 2 weeks of pretty heavy use.1. Cable is harder than Ron Jeremy in high school: My mouse cable was quite solid but nothing I wouldn't expect from another mouse, it's still maniable enough to not become a distraction. Not sure if other people were heavily exaggerating or if the cables from my batch have been improved2. Feet scratching mousepad/feeling rough: I'm not sure if my mousepad is already too old and shitty, but I haven't been feeling like the mouse is damaging my bad and I feel no friction from the feet. The mouse is really light so it requires little pressure to move around the pad, it feels pretty damn good.3. M1 button firing by itself: This actually happened to me once or twice in the first few hours or use and I was very scared of a physical defect. Thankfully, this isn't actually a defect with the mouse but rather my fingers triggering the M1 and M2 buttons as they lay on them when lifting and plopping the mouse down. After noticing this, I easily corrected my grip on the mouse and it hasn't happened since. Maybe the buttons could benefit from a little bit more resistance to avoid these accidental misfires.I'm super happy with the mouse, the weight is surreal!

Good mouse, I prefer it over all others, having used modern Zowie, Razer, Logitech, and Zowie mice. My second favorite is the Zowie EC1-A. Third favorite is perhaps the Logitech 703 though, it creates discomfort during use, for me. My hand length is ~20cm (8 inches) long and 12cm (5 inches) wide.I wanted to field some questions and address some misinformation in other reviews:The weight is fantastic. I have always preferred a lighter mouse because I dislike the inertia created when using heavier mice and my above-average hand size pushes me into a finger-tip grip. This mouse is fantastic for reducing fatigue for finger-tip grip users. I would insist that a lighter mouse is ideal, however, I believe your hand's WIDTH is most likely to determine which mice you prefer.Cord is very stiff. I will be replacing it. I would recommend everyone use a mouse bungee.The holes create an interesting texture beneath the hand. It's not an unpleasant feeling but, it does feel like something. I like the texture it creates beneath the hand. The holes They don't create pressure points or irritate the hand and, you do not feel a defined "shape" (like small circles or edges) beneath the palm during use.The side mouse buttons could be improved. The mouse wheel isn't bad, though,I prefer the middle mouse click on the Logitech wireless mice, and the Razer ones. This one is slightly mushy. I am able to click repeatedly easily after a bit of practice, however. I like how short it is, avoiding unwanted contact with the hand during use well. I dislike, in other mice, when the wheel is too high, as you are likely to press against it when the hand shifts.Some videos show flexing under pressure. My mouse does not flex. To clarify, I am not saying it "flexes a little but who cares man it's a good mouse". It doesn't flex at all. No idea how much pressure they are putting onto the mouse to display this on film or, perhaps it's possible on the black and white model? I can only speculate.Regarding the coating, it's very nice. Similar to the new Logitech coating though, I do not find it grips quite as well.Those of you with very dry hands may dislike the texture. I have dry skin myself and this toes the line between the uncomfortable "paper" feeling and a more comfortable "linen" feeling. Those of you with very dry skin may prefer the plastic model.The mouse has a seam that may create irritation for the ring finger during use, beneath the right click button, along the right side of the mouse. Muscle memory will help you to avoid it but, it's there. I would prefer a solid, straight wall of plastic along the right side and mouse buttons that sit flush beside that wall to avoid this problem.Regarding my own preferences, the hump on the mouse is forward. This is not ideal for me. Under my own testing, however, a hump farther back is preferable for those with large hands. I wish this were a purchasable option. Also, the front of the mouse splays outward, creating a pressure point on my ring finger during intense use when the mouse is actually pressing against my palm. I think a straight line or gentler curve at the front-right corner of the mouse would be better. Those of you who are sensitive to pressure points and have had issues with this in the past may want to be aware of this. Save your receipt. :)Ultimately, I think this is a great product and I would recommend for everybody to try it out. I love the weight, however, those of us with large hands continue to be under-served.

Let me start this off by saying it's a super good looking mouse and I was and still am super excited to get my hands on one for more than 15 minutes. But the left click on the mouse broke after about 15 minutes of use.So I figured not a biggy I'll contact FM and ask what I can do to get a new one, by either me sending this one in and getting one in return. Or even send it in for repairs using the manufacturers warranty. Well after getting in contact with customer support I was told to do a return through amazon and take my money.As someone who really wishes to use this mouse and has waited quite a while to even have the chance to purchase one, this was horrible news. Between the mouse breaking and the lack of support from FM, I can't recommend anyone to buy this product. Not until they have a system in place to where they're able to either repair faulty products or replace them.I'll be sure to revisit this review if FM gets in contact with me and resolves the issue. But at this time they have stopped replying to my emails.Edit : I changed my one star rating to a 4, and here's why. FinalMouse customer support reached back to me through email and said as of this moment they have no stock to give a replacement product. But they said for me to do the return through amazon and next batch I'll be receiving a new Ultralight. This is the perfect type of support I like to see from a company. 5/5 Stars for customer support, and 4/5 for the product, only because the first one i got was faulty.Update...its been many months and I've still yet to receive an email regarding any type of replacement unit. And my views of Finalmouse has been tarnished, it's one thing to say you're going to do something and then it's another to actually do it. 0/10 experience

After purchasing countless amounts of gaming mice I can finally say that I have found one that I can comfortably settle with. Comfortable shape, responsive clicks, great sensor and as advertised - super light weight - the ultralight is well worth the hype. Other than the scroll wheel, which, in my opinion is a little bit "mushy", it's a great mouse. Not perfect, but pretty close.
