No BS review- it's good
Look. Dont believe that top pic, but, It works. It has a few flaws. The good:1)*Amazon delivered in a day, almost 2 weeks earlier than expected. Pretty amazing there. It's super quiet and fun to watch in a sadistic sense. Better than a sticky trap or any other stink bait trap, but for reasons of asthetics and clealiness.2) I would like to see the bait resoviors made deeper. If you use honey even in small amounts, as in the directions, it will eventually glue the sweeper to the top and break the plastic sweep key-mount at the motor as it did on mine. Deeper resovior would allow for the sweep to pass uninhibited while the insect feeds...to their doom.2) perhaps the sweeper could actually be a hair type brush rather than the plastic spines. Many of the samller fruit fly types simply walk right back out past the spines after feeding. I want them all dead.Overview: Don't believe the top review pic. He/she put dead-swatted flys on the top and that's just not how this works. It will get them, but I've time. If you leave it by your food/garbage inside, they will eventually get caught, and you didn't have to do any of the work. Good product. Could use some adjustments.

Please don't waste your money
I saw this (or something similar on Reddit, and thought this would be a great idea. SO, It came in today. I got it out of the box to discover it doesn't come with fly attractant...so off to the store. Finally get the attractant mixed, set up and Wham...fly in the trap. I sit patiently waiting for the little sucker to get swept into the trap...when it just flew out between the little fingers. So I thought, ok, no reason to have the smell of horse manure in the house, so I take it outside. Within five minutes, there were ten little guys actually in the trap. Went in to watch another episode and came back out to watch the last little bugger fly out of the trap, the same way he came in....So basically, it works, but not permanently, and frankly I think the bowl of water and dish detergent is the only thing that keeps them gone for the long haul...definitely not this thing.

Should have known that first reviews were bogus....
We live out in the country, surrounded by horse farms. While a beautiful, you pay the price of keeping flies out of the house. We've used the UV lights with the electric grid, and they work well. My wife does not like the loud snaps, however. So we bought this unit. When I studied the pictures I thought it would rotate faster to catch the flies. Nope. The whole top rotates a little slower than the second hand on a clock. For a fly to get caught it has to walk itself inward over about 15 seconds (see the transparent plastic housing on the top?) and during that time fall into the trap and be caught. For it to escape (as other reviews have stated) it can reverse the process. Our UV light will get 3-4 flies a night. This unit has been out with honey in all bait strips for a week and NOT ONE FLY (the UV light has been off during this trial period). We have got more of them with a wet rag swat (free on Amazon!!!) than this heap of trash has caught.

NO NO..A big fat ZERO
I was having an invasion of flies in my house. So I bought this 2 months ago and have had it running everyday since. I have captured ZERO flies. I've put it up high, down low, counter height, around food, away from food, in the light, in the dark, with a dab of honey, with nothing...still ZERO. I put it in the kitchen, in the den, in the bathroom, in the bedroom, in the enclosed porch, and finally in the greenhouse...still ZERO. It's definitely not a better "mouse trap" IT IS USELESS. If I can prevent another person from buying this Fly Trap nonsense, then I have done my good dead for the day.

Didn't work for me
We live by horses, cows and goats so we always have flies in our house. And I can't stand it! I thought I'd give this a try. I had had it on my kitchen counter running for three days straight. I put honey in the little grooves on top and even a piece of raw fish inside to attract the flies. I caught 1 fly in 3 days. Not worth it in my opinion. I just went and bought a 99 cent fly swatter and it is much more effective.

Don't waste your time or money
I liked the fact it would catch a fly. Thought this was a really great device until I saw the little buggers find there way out of the trap and fly away.

Catch & Release is not for Flies!!!
The flies land, sometimes get swept in, but then they just fly back out a couple mins later. I've added soapy water to the base but still nothing.Don't waste your money on this thing. It is worse than the Catch & Release with Jennifer Garner!

Cheap!
I ordered two for opposite sides of the house. The first arrived broken into several parts. The second worked for about four days then just quit. It did catch flies but not fast enough.
