AMAZING
I love this product. It is so easy, great value for money, really easy to clean. Be aware certain products have to be added later in the process or it will burn the bottom and the machine will cut out for safety e.g cream. I love it and it's fantastic for healthy, quick, hearty autumn and winter meals. I also use it to make a variety of sauces.

Simple and Quick
This is a great piece of equipment if you just want a bowl of soup for lunch. I love it because when I have left over vegetables or tomatoes I can quickly turn them into a bowl of nourishing, low calorie soup by adding stock cubes or tinned tomatoes some herbs and lentils.I love it

NOT A MATCH FOR THE TEFAL
I very recently purchased this soup maker to replace my trusty Tefal which I'd had for a number of years but suddenly died. I can't exactly say I don't like this Russell Hobs; but I am constantly comparing it with the Tefal which I think is a better built machine and much easier to use.The body of the Russell Hobs is so thin. The controls are easy enough but ....... It's a quick soup maker - 21 minutes from adding the ingredients to pouring the finished soup. The flavour of the soup depends entirely on what goes in at the beginning; so is basically a ridiculous question for a sensible Review !!!I have found, whatever soup I make, there is always a burnt area at the base of the machine which means cleaning takes more time and I find this extremely annoying. I make soup on a very regular basis, the machine stays on my worktop for instant access. Do I like the look of it ? Well, not really - preferred the Tefal in every way but the current price is somewhat prohibitive. So I chose to purchase what I now think is a poor substitute. I suppose it's fair to say - we get what we pay for !!! Would I buy it again - NO, NO !!

Easy to use, easy to clean
Have used it only for smooth soups so far, but have no doubt it will create good chunky soups too. Having had my previous soup maker for 8 years which was blender style, I was worried it wouldn't make as big a quantity of soup as you can only fill it to about 1/3 up. I was wrong on this - it makes 4 decent portions when fill to max line. Lid goes on surprisingly easily considering blade has to navigate the ingredients in the kettle. Keep warm function works well. Auto clean function is great for getting the majority of food debris off but still needs the once over afterwards, especially the top of the spindle. Small inconvenience for an otherwise great soup maker.Box was damaged on arrival inside the paper Amazon bag - it was clearly damaged when picked at the warehouse. Luckily no damage to the soup maker itself but make sure to check as whatever ripped the box had ripped the plastic bag around the soup maker too.

Burns at bottom of soup maker after 5 mins
The media could not be loaded. I had a Morphy Richards soup maker similar to this one but smaller capacity which was fantastic for 5 years with never a problem. Eventually it broke down so decided to get a new larger capacity model. It worked ok the first few times but then developed a fault. After switching on it would run for 5 minutes then cut out and would not restart. Had to empty out contents and ingredients had burned onto the bottom. Was very difficult to clean off. See video for demonstration.Unfortunately I was just out side the Amazon return date and was directed to the manufacturers help site.Sent details of the problem and got an automated response saying they were very busy and would get back to me (I can now easily believe they were busy as they must get a lot of complaints)They did get back 3 days later and asked me to provide proof of purchase, warranty details and make and serial number also if possible a video showing the problem. Not used to making videos I eventually managed to do so. Whilst I am no threat to Francis Ford Coppola it was not a bad effort. From reading other reviews I can see this is a common problem with this soup maker. Sent the info as requested and am still waiting to hear from them.I will update this review with the eventuall outcomeUPDATE after a number of email communications with MR they agreed that I should go back to the retailer for a refund. I used the Amazon chat facility and the bot eventually pointed me in the direction of a real human being who I must say could not have been more helpful. They sent me a QR code and return details. Simple and straightforward and I got a full refund. I see that soup makers are in the latest Amazon sale and the one I purchased is £20 cheaper. Was nearly tempted to get another but resisted as every model has issues with burn food. This seam like a permanent problem as some reviews go back to 2013. Even as late as January this year the same complaint comes up.I have gone back to making soup in a pan using a hand blender. Whilst not as simple as the soup maker I now have more control.
