Essential Tool for Seeding New Lawns
I am very happy with this lawn roller, for my lawn renovation project. The old lawn was very bumpy and weed-filled. I glyphosated, dethatched, did core aeration, spread about 3 cubic yards of topsoil, leveled with a landscaping rake, watered the dirt, and then rolled with this roller. It will not completely grade an extremely uneven lawn, but it's a heck of a lot better than nothing, and does significantly smooth out the uneven areas.I also used it to roll after seeding and top dressing with peat moss, to improve seed to soil contact. This roller was also a bargain compared to others. Setup was easy, but you do need a wrench and an electric screwdriver is helpful.Didnt leak. Filled with water it wasn't too heavy even to get up and down a sloped driveway, and I'm no weightlifter. Perhaps larger heavier models would work a tad better, but I feel like this size is perfect to get the job done but not overly compact the soil.

Broke after first use
The lawn roller had promise and I was excited to put it together and roll out my newly renovated lawn. After filling with water and making a single pass one of the bolts holding the handle to the barrel broke completely off. The bolts appear to be riveted into the side of the barrel so there was no way to reattach it. At this point I could no longer use it. As I was processing the return the 2nd bolt holding the handle to the barrel broke off, the same exact way as the other side. Possibly a defective. The build quality seemed solid but I guess there's a reason it's the cheapest lawn roller on Amazon. Will spend a little more for my next roller.

Doesn't hold up!
The roller just made it past a year before rusting where the handle attaches to drum. The bolt pulled out and I could not get the bolt reattached. If you want something that only last a year buy this. The stopper to keep the water in is easy to lose. I had to go out and buy a rubber stopper. I bought this because it was smaller and light weight (when empty).

A poorly manufactured piece of junk.
When it arrived I noticed ding marks made from the inside of the drum near the welds, I was concerned but proceeded to assemble. I found the screws used to attach the handle to the drum completely askew, i.e. not perpendicular to the drum. After one use a screw failed rendering it useless. Do not buy this product. It is not a durable garden tool, it is a piece of junk.

Handy lawn roller for the amature gardener.
Good for rolling my small newly turfed lawn. Can be used with roller full or empty of water. Definitely not a professional yard tool, but good for ocaisional use. Durability of the roller face will be key going forward. Price was reasonable.

Good quality construction. Inadequate functionality
The lawn roller is well made; the roller holds water well, the handle is well constructed and it is easy to assemble. That said, it is not large enough - and therefore, not heavy enough - to roll out a lawn without repeatedly rolling the same area. Good product quality, but choose instead a bigger, heavier option that can do the job. It rolls so well, the extra weight won't matter all that much. (For the record, I am a 60 year old woman! So my comment about rolling a heavier weight should be taken in that context.)

Junk!!
Piece of crap. Broke first time using it and a son of a bitch to actually roll. Have used a plastic drum for 8 years. Thought time for a new one... got junk.
