Excellent book about what God designed men to be.
This book does a phenomenal job of articulating the way God intends men to lead, mentor, fight for, and be a good friends for their family. I think this book is great for fathers teaching their teenage sons what it means to be a man.

A bit too conservative for me; but others may like it
I saw Stu come speak to the military in Afghanistan, and he is a gifted speaker who loves and supports men and women in the military. I ordered the book after he visited and read it in one day. It's pretty conservative and mirrors most of the things I already learned in a psychology degree, but it does have some useful "checklists" for how to put theory into daily practice. Some people will embrace the book and others will find some of the ideas (i.e. gender roles) a bit too conservative. Overall, his heart is in the right place.

Fantastic Read in EVERY Aspect!
STRONGLY RECOMMEND as a companion to Wild at Heart by John Eldridge!! Seriously one of the best books about what it means to be a man. I read this along with my husband and found many relevant and important topics to discuss with our two teenage boys during our weekly family meetings. There are many important lessons to learn from this book, which I believe are critical to having a joyous and fruitful life.

Outstanding Guide
I used this book as the basis for a small group Bible Study/Discipleship study with 6 college age young men. I read this book several years ago and now use it for mentoring young people. A GREAT read, practical and there are many great applications for growth, developement and we have really good discussions about this. Stu Weber draws from his own experience in the military and from his time as a pastor in a straightforward and heartfelt way. Good price, for the paperback too. Highly Recommend.

Four Pillars Is A Five Star Read
Stu Weber is a man's man who communicates the Gospel from a warriors perspective. A former soldier and Vietnam veteran turned pastor, Weber is not afraid to "hurt the last little feeling you have left" as he forgoes the sensitivities of our modern day culture by speaking frankly, truthfully, and candidly to men about their relationship to Christ. Stu lands upper cuts and body shots to the heart that challenged me personally like no other Christian author had done in a long while. Four Pillars of a Man's Heart and Tinder Warrior should find their way onto your "must read" list as a man seeking God's direction for your life... you won't be disappointed! Rick Stewart

I'm a better man because of this book
Stu... I feel I know the man by reading this book. He buttresses the need for fully-present men in the home - the highest office in any nation. It fuelled my burden and passion; has challenged my faith and strengthened my conviction to be different. To be counted! Not as a statistic but as one who fought a good fight.
