Bought as a replacement for the stock ps4 fan that crapped out. It works way better than the stock fan ever thought about working. It is very very easy to install and even someone with very limited electronics experience can tackle this with little problems. It came with everything i needed to get the ps4 apart safely. Its still holding up to this day. The ps4 stays cool with no temperature issues. When it comes to value for your money you need look no further.

If you are going to take it all apart andif you are going to get the big block of dust out from blocking the heat sink cooling fins andif you are going to clean and replace the thermal grease thenyou might as well replace the fan, too.Did all that with this fan and the noise is gone.

Turns out the thermal paste on the refurbed Playstation 4 was done incorrectly. But I broke the connectors on the old fan and had to install this one anyway. After correctly using the thermal paste this fan is doing an awesome job of cooling. And it is alot quieter, though the old fan noise most likely was from having to run a max rpms. As far as easy to install comment, It is a playstation 4, total disassembly to get to the fan. Not the fans fault.

Installing the fan is easy. Getting to where the fan is located is a straight forward process with a guide you can find online. ( suggestion, ifixit.com) Reassembly of the ps4 requires attention to screw, ribbon and plug removal/disconnection for ease of reassembly.This fan is model specific, if your ps4 is compatible then this fan will fit! However, mine did not work upon arrival. So could it be a motherboard problem or bad luck with a busted new fan?**MOTHERBOARD**On the motherboard where the fan connects there are three prongs. +12volts, ground and speed sense/tach. Using a multi-meter I tested the +12volt and ground for continuity and passed So for simple on/off operation of the fan the motherboard is not the issue.**FAN** (3speed low, med, high)The old/original fan would twitch without spinning. Which likely means that the variable (sense) speed fan is no longer variable. I tested the old original fan and continuity fluctuated. So I hooked it up to a 12 volt power adapter set at +12v 1.5amp and worked at high speed. To test the newly purchased fan meant that I would be unable to return it because I would have to cut the plug off to test the fan. So that's what I did and first tested for continuity-failed. Hooked it up to my power source and nothing, the fan was dead. No twitch, jerk not even a spark just dead. At least I have the thermal paste and t8, t9 drivers...oh and this review!So I suggest that you look at the reviews to see how many reports of defective fans as it relates to total purchased before deciding to gamble with this vendor.

I does work as a replacement fan for the PS4. My two issues I ran into are 1. The power pigtail is a bit short and I had to stretch it to fit, I was sure it was going to pull the pins out of the connector. Very very tight on the wires once plugged in. I out a small piece of electrical tape on the edge of the motherboard to try and keep the wires from rubbing through. 2. It is a bit louder than the factory fan in my opinion, but has the same exact part number on it as the one I pulled out of my PS4.Overall it works and for the money I cannot complain.

I will definitely be buying more of these fans for every PS4. The installation is why it gets a bad rating yep it's complicated. Yep it's daunting task but once you get all the way down to the fan it fixed the problem. Also don't make the same mistake as I did also replace the heat sink pads at the same time...

It took me two tries to really get this fan installed (this is not a fault of the product). I haven't seen any videoes go through in-depth detail but really make sure you're installing components exactly where they need to go when putting back together a PS4; some pieces are gonna be grounds that'll make or break the whole thing.Long story short I've had this for about a week's worth of play testing now and I can say that the fan does its job of keeping the PS4 cool. It is by no means a quiet fan but considering my old fan was LOUD this is definitely an improvement.
