Precision Kitchenware - Premium 12" Locking Kitchen Tongs

Update 12/4/18:I bought another set of these after purchasing just one before. When my new set arrived I was shocked to realize I couldn't tell my old pair any my new pair apart!I love these things, they grip well are easy to open and close, and have just enough give without being open fully to use.Nice company, and a good product. I handwash these, so I'm not sure how they hold up in a dish washer........I bought these a few years ago. They're sturdy still, non rusted, the grips are still on.I love that you can pull the ring out to close the tongs, and a light tap will let them open again. I'll definitely purchase another set or two soon.Note I do not use the dishwasher to wash the tongs. Handwash only.

I don't know . . . .These look impressive, and the locking feature is nice. But for pity's sake, why don't manufacturers realize by now that the head of a pair of tongs has to be angled for it to be maneuvered properly? A straight setup like this, when you're trying to turn a piece of food over, is awkward. On the up-side, however, they work for ice cubes, or for anything that you just want to move from here to there without flipping, or as a spare if you can't find your angled tongs.

I had two tongs in my kitchen, this one and another that that stayed closed using a metal hoop that had to be pulled up to release the spring. After a year I realized I was always reaching for this one because it was easier to use. Last week this one was in the dishwasher, and while using my other tongs I pinched the skin on my hand. I tossed the other tongs and bought another of these. Guess I liked them.

When I was offered a pair of these premium 12" locking kitchen tongs for review I already had two pairs of kitchen tongs, so I almost declined the offer. But I really wasn't happy with either my nonstick tongs that neither locked closed nor gripped well or my lightweight metal tongs with the fiddly hook-type lock, and I own other Precision Kitchenware tools and knew them to be a great company, so I agreed to try these out. I had never owned a really good pair of kitchen tongs before, so I was surprised at how much I liked these.The first thing that sets these apart is the locking mechanism. Opening them is as easy as pushing on the hanging ring. To close them for storage, just pull on the ring. You can store them in a drawer or hang them on a hook if you prefer. I also like the 12" length that allowed me to turn my steak in my hot cast iron pan without having the spattering fat burn my hand. These tongs are extremely well made and sturdy without being heavy, and the hand grips at the top are comfortable to hold. The tips meet nicely and are relatively thin, making them easy to slip underneath the food and providing a secure hold when turning even a heavy steak. I've also cooked burgers in a nonstick skillet and held them by the edges with these tongs so I could flip them without having the metal touch the nonstick surface.As with all Precision Kitchenware products, the best thing about them is the manufacturer's lifetime guarantee and superb customer service. I love buying from a company that has the confidence and customer commitment to stand behind its products 100%. And although I didn't purchase this pair of tongs, if I had to return them after the review period I would gladly purchase another pair to keep, especially at this low price.

We've been using plastic tongs for awhile and with larger meats it seems near impossible to pick them up. But this set of tongs is solid and durable and has so far been doing exactly what I purchased them for. I am happy with my purchase.This is not the first Precision Kitchenware product I have purchased either. I also bought the vegetable/julienne peeler. They are quickly becoming a reliable brand to me.

Since I rarely use tongs, I wanted something inexpensive that work and looks decent. These fit the bill perfectly. They are a thin gauge metal and probably would not hold up to heavy use, but are perfect for occasional use and they look good.

What an amazing seller! I bought these tongs and they broke the first day I used them. The seller sent me out a new pair immediately after hearing this and the new ones have been great, no problems at all. It is hard to find customer service this good these days!

This is a good product for the price point. Also, a small tong and big size is nice to have on hand.

Super, endlich auch eine kleinere Zange. Ich hatte fürs Campen noch nach einer kleineren Metallzange gesucht. Finde dieses Zweier-Set daher hervorragend. Bin zufrieden und erfreue mich sehr an der kleineren Zange.

Die Zange liegt gut in der Hand und das Bratgut/Steaks lässt sich gut damit greifen und wenden.Endlich keine Hantiererei mehr mit Gabeln, die das Fleisch anstechen und den Saft austreten lassen, zudem ist die Arbeitshand vor Fettspritzern und Verbrennungen geschützt. Praktisch auch die Sperre mittels des Rings oben, mit der die Zange geschlossen bleibt und so gut in die Besteck-/Kochutensilienschublade passt.Bin sehr zufrieden, mehr Geld muss man eigentlich nicht ausgeben.
