Great kit for a tough job!
The ProKit is a very nice quality glass-only screen replacement kit - mine was for a Samsung Galaxy S3. The peel-n-stick edge adhesive is pre-formed (the blue piece in the illustration) -- after removing the old glass you simply peel off the backing, align and press, then peel off the front plastic sheet and you are ready to install the new glass. This improvement is much better than buying a roll of specialty glue tape and snipping little pieces to go around corners and buttons. The most difficult part of a DYI glass-only replacement is removing the glass without damaging the LCD digitizer underneath. There are many youtube videos showing exactly how to do this. Spend an hour or so watching them before beginning. AGAIN - watch and listen to the videos and learn before you start!! It is very easy to damage the digitizer so follow instructions exactly and use a heat gun or a hot blow dryer to make removal easier by softening up the old glue.Stick some stong clear tape over the broken glass then start detaching at the top of the phone and go slow and easy. Do not use tools along the bottom edge at all - there is a paper-thin flat connector below the home button that must NOT be damaged. Just work your way down till you get close to the bottom corners and gently pull the old glass back until you can see the strip. Consult the videos about this area. The tools included are for removing the old glass. They are OK for doing one replacement. An old fashioned razor blade - the kind with one sharp edge and a stiff spine on the other edge - is very handy, but rub it on a brick or sandpaper before using so it doesn't cut anything important. If you break the old digitizer you will need a combination glass+digitizer replacement kit, which come as one piece. At this time (late 2014) they can be found used for $100-$150 but you must be cautious to buy from quality sellers. New glass+digitizers cost more. To install a glass+digitizer you will need to watch *install digitizer* videos and will probably have to buy your own 3M 2-millimeter double-sided adhesive tape.I ordered the Prokit color conversion set that includes the matching back cover. If you are changing phone colors please note that the HOME button is not included - it will remain the old color. In my case it looks good so I'm happy.Good luck!

Try, try again!
After stalling for 2 weeks, I did the screen replacement on my Galaxy S3 yesterday. My phone landed "butter side down" near Guernsey, WY, when I stopped to take a picture. In spite of a Body Glove case AND a "bullet-proof" screen protector, both screens were badly shattered.I read the directions which were spot on. I even watched the videos-did anyone else notice there beer bottle on the technician's workbench?I spent nearly an hour cleaning on the screen area. Alas! I apparently missed a small piece of glass on the bottom edge. It cracked. Although I am disappointed, my phone is much more useable than before. I have another kit coming in next week, and am ready for round 2, which I know will be quicker and easier. Oh, I also put in some magnetic phone mounts in my truck. I will be ready for the next random photo op!

Poor quality tools
Poor quality tools , edges on plastic tools break off or are rought and not clean edges. Instructions are poor and not complete. The wedge tool or guitar pick breaks off or bends before it can be useful. The molding on the back cover has rouch edges and over shot material around the camera rim. The temperature rating as told is not suffiecient to remove the screen. We had to use a digital blower with precision setting at 240 degrees to make it work. A very frustrating product that I would not use ever again. Job took over 2 hours to do with poor results. Also there should be a supplied adhesive ring for around the buttons. The instructions ask you to reuse adhesives on the old cover. This is ridiculous. Adhesive are not designed to be reused.

Repair Kit
Expained corretly for the most part. The Glass on the old phone is much harder to take off without damaging the LCD screen then explained, but all and all for the price a good kit.

the other came out nice, I like the product
Just what i needed, but be CAREFUL!!!... the screen and the glass is really hard to get apart on the galaxy s3, I worked on two of them for my daughter and niece, and on one i cracked the LCD, and had to replace both, the other came out nice, I like the product, but would rather spend the money and have a pro do this.
