PIPEtalk Fits Large Solar Oven/Stove Evacuated 5" Glass VacTube Cooker-Selling Only Tray

My only concern with ordering this was: would it fit properly? Well, it fits properly - better than the silicone stopper that came with the Rand Solar tube. Nicely built product, nice to see that someone here is earning a few bucks off a Chinese import product (the Rand tube). Haven't tried to cook with it yet and I will update when I do, but I don't expect any problems. Update: Cooked a couple of pounds of pork in this tray with the Rand Solar tube a few days ago - worked perfectly! Wish I could add a star.

Well constructed and fits well, It doesn’t lock to the oven but it doesn’t have too, you need a little room for the steam to escape. It doesn’t affect the temperature.I don’t see any red silicone that another reviewer complained about. If it is between the aluminum it’s been neatly cleaned off and the maker said it’s food grade and is good up to 800 degree’s.

Makes my Rand Solar oven as practical as the pricier Go Sun solar ovens. Well made, fits perfectly, keeps solar oven much cleaner. I put lock washers on wooden handle bolt and a plastic cap over the bolt end at handles end, as it gets hot too. Doesnt tear or leak like aluminum foil did. Now....make a stand or holder for the combination, and I'll get that too. Love the tray.

It is what is in the picture. It serves the purpose and works fine. However, I don't like the red silicone glue used to seal the ends of the tray. The internal temperature will get very hot and volatile organic compounds (VOC) might be released from the silicone glue, into the food. It is food that we are talking about here, so I don't even want to image the chemicals out of the silicone glue. The metal handle also gets very hot. Use soldering or welding or other ways of joining metal sheets, and a wooden handle, and I will give it a 5 star.
