Fit perfectly and works as it should

OK, its a starter solenoid, I get it. It works, however, there are a few issues with it that I wish were better. First off, know that the chrome plating is not a "mirror chrome" as you might expect for a Harley part. It is more of a satin chrome as shown in the pictures. Mine was not quite as good. Not horrible, but could have been a little nicer since this part is completely visible when installed. I polished it by hand and got it looking acceptable. Second small issue - the retaining nut on one post was thin - and both of the larger ones had a greater OD than the originals. May not seem like a big deal - but it did make tightening the lower post nut impossible. The extra size put the edges of the bolt right against the insulation on the starter cable, and because it was so thin it did not protrude past the insulation enough to get a socket on it. I remedied this by using the original nuts, which were the same pitch and ID but a smaller OD. Finally (and this is the big one) - the solenoid did not sit square and true when mounted. The body was pitched at an angle as if the bracket were bent. The part was packed very well so I doubt if it was shipping damage. The solenoid works fine, but time will tell if it leaks around the seal. I took off one star for this and not for the minor niggles mentioned earlier. Will update this review if I experience any problems.
