Shinwa Blue Folded Damascus Odachi Sword

Very nice tsuka ito wrap, furnishings, and edge geometry, gorgeous blade, very sharp and durable. I'd highly recommend to anyone on the fence about this purchase!

The blade is a work of art, the folded Damascus steel makes a beautiful pattern. And it will slice paper and skin and it's own shipping box.Sword feels sturdy and well made, everything is nice and tight.Noticably heavier than standard Katana because of it's length and extra thickness needed for a long blade. But with the leverage of the (almost too long) handle, I could swing it around reasonably well.Shinwa is from China, but they are I've of the quality, recognized sword makers. Makes this an awesome deal- very happy with it!

It’s a nice blade. Exactly what I wanted but I had a bent tip on the blade. I don’t know if it’s the sheath or if it was simply mishandled. I’m not really into fixing my own blades. So I think it’s gonna have to stay that way.

I bought this exact same sword at a convention for more than twice the price (about $350 if i remember right) without knowing so when i saw one on amazon basically $137 i had to buy it......for research purposes. It's exactly the same lmao. The lesson here is not to impulse buy swords at conventions. The sword length is about 5 feet even somewhere around 60.5 inches. Comes oiled, with a sword bag and has instructions for care/maintenance. I can't justify buying a third one but Shinwa makes good swords in my experience so if you want one at a good price go for it.
