BASA Egg Cooker, 2018 New Multifunctional Electric Hard Boiled Egg Maker, 16 Egg Large Capacity Rapid Egg Boiler Steamer With Automatic Shut Off for Hard Boiled Eggs, Poached Eggs, Steamed Food

This is my first egg cooker. Didn’t even know they existed until I was involved in a Facebook discussion on the best way to hard boil an egg. After doing some research it appears to me that all the egg cookers are basically the same. Heating plate steams the water to a certain temperature cooking the egg. What made the Basa Egg Cooker stand out were the “timer” and the fact that it could cook up to “16 eggs.” Wow! Perfect for any size family. After trying several batches of eggs the product works well. Since eggs are of different sizes and age it takes a little adjusting to dial in the cooking time for the perfect egg. I found some of the instructions in the manual required correction and clarification. I contacted Basa and they responded immediately and were eager to listen and make corrections as needed. Very impressive.Most egg cookers are called cookers. Basa is called an Egg Boiler. A little confusing since it’s cooked by steam not by boiling. The instructions advise to pierce the blunt end (fat end) of the egg and to place the pierced end down in the cooker. The pierced end should be pointed up. When setting the timer for the desired time the timer knob does not move like a typical count-down timer. Once the set time is reached the heating plate automatically shuts off. However it is still very hot inside the dome and the eggs will continue cooking inside their shell. Remove the dome and release the steam. As the eggs are still too hot to touch use tongs to transfer them to cold or ice water to cool down for a few minutes. Since my unit was absent cleaning instructions I suggest cleaning the removable parts in mild soapy water. The cooking base cannot be submerged in water. It can be hand wiped and the plate itself wiped off to remove hard water spots with a mixture of water and white vinegar.Yes, even though there were a few instructional and packaging issues I still gave the Basa Egg Boiler 5 stars. This is a brand new product and Basa committed to making improvements to the manual and correcting packaging issues. What makes Basa a step above the numerous other egg cookers is the timer shutoff and it can cook 16 eggs. Only Basa does that.

This egg cooker machine is very nice. Right off the bat, I will tell you that I highly recommend this item! I used to be a person that would hard boil my eggs, but I always had trouble telling when they would be ready to eat. Using this egg cooker machine has made it a lot easier for me. The manual is very helpful and will tell you the amount of time you need to cook the kinds of eggs you want.This machine isn't very huge and does not take up a lot of kitchen counter space either. It's easy to clean and move around. There isn't much to dislike about this egg cooker at all. So far it has done the job for me and I don't have any complaints.For the price, I would recommend this item. If you like to make eggs, whether in salads, hard boiled, breakfast or whatever, this machine will help reduce your cooking time. Think of it as a microwave oven- you just put your food in there and let it sit.

I like this little egg cooker because it can cook 16 eggs at a time (I haven't tried more than 8 yet) while not taking much time, water, or power. It's easy to clean just by wiping it out and washing the trays. A little vinegar on a cloth takes off hard water stains with no problem. Customer support is great to work with. I posted a comment/question to try to find a manual (I got mine from Warehouse Deals and the manual was missing) and got a quick reply with an email. A person (a real one--not automated) emailed me back within an hour saying a pdf copy of the manual would be emailed the next day, and it was. Everything so far is great. The only reason I knocked off a star is because I have to be careful because, like most things, it's mostly plastic. I wish it were made of a more durable material, but I understand they had to keep the price down. No idea on the longevity yet, but I've been using a month or so and have had no problems so far.

Not the greatest. Does not cook eggs evenly. I have an egg cooker almost 20 yrs old and works perfect. I only bought this cooker because it cooks double the eggs. Not worth it.

This is the best thing ever. I put the eggs in and go about my business and before I know it. Poached eggs are ready. I actually sprayed a little oil in the little poached egg tray and the eggs fall right out! Amazing. I wipe out the heat tray with vinegar and no hard water. Not sure if you are suppose to use oil or vinegar, research that first.

Useful and valuable kitchen appliance I use it almost everyday and it's very reliable and very efficient I love it. Now I got out of the protein source so hard boiled eggs to my diet because they're available and it's a big plus for me. Great product. I also cook frozen salmon patties and veggie burgers and brussel sprouts in it it is really versatile. Five stars all the way is one of the gifts I will be giving friends for Christmas who will really appreciate it and use it.

1. This is not an Alex friendly product so you can not just power it up and let it run its duration.2. This unit is a bit sensitive if your in a hurry and want to pull eggs out quickly. You must respect the time on the instructions or you end up with partial cooked eggs. (my mistake)

It doesn’t work, you put the water in and set the timer and come back and the eggs are still liquified and then you do it again 2 more times to get boiled eggs, too much trouble and time, not what is described.
