use it everyday at work.
I work for the railroad and we have to carry a ton of stuff from rule books to a change of clothes. I bought this particular bag for it's light weight and the company's bulletproof reputation for durability and functionality. It's the perfect size for me which is slightly bigger than a regular backpack. I'm pleased with the purchase and would buy it again. I feel this would make an excellent bug out bag.

Solid Pack, but Nothing Special for the Price.
I wanted to give this pack a solid five, but I had a couple issues that I wasn't crazy about. When I was with Marine Snipers, we were allowed to use our own gear and I had purchased a Blackhawk ruck for a pretty penny. However, that ruck was worth so much more and I've been a Blackhawk fan since. Having said that, though, I wasn't overly impressed with this Day/Assault pack. The pack is definitely spacious and can hold a serious load. My problem was that I put this load to the test. I had my gym gear, school books, and some food and water in here and when I went running for my bus the bag had started to unzip after about a city block of running. A simple fixture for this is that I took a cheap carabineer and fed it through the straps and now I don't have to worry about the zippers giving out and losing my load. I was really disappointed with this for obvious reasons, but mainly because for a $100+ bag I would expect those zippers to be much sturdier to a heavy load. When I had a $20 backpack from Wal-Mart I had the same problem, but that was a $20 bag and it's to be expected.Another issue I had was that, like I was taught in the Marine Corps, I pull the straps tight so that the pack is snug on my back and doesn't cause as much stress on your back. Well, I did this and when I was running a couple blocks with a heavy load the straps started to come loose so I had to keep tightening them on the run. Again, not something you would expect considering how much you pay for the pack.*UPDATE*After about a year of use my left strap is basically useless when I have a heavy load in the bag. It used to be that the strap would come loose while on the run with a heavy load, but now the left strap starts to completely loosen even while I'm simply walking or standing which is not only uncomfortable, but also very annoying to have to constantly tighten down the strap or look for a way to rig it from moving. My fix right now is safety pinning the left side when I have a heavy load, but again, I shouldn't have to do this with a $100+ bag. These two issues aside, though, this pack is good to go in terms of storage space and look. Also, the padded straps are very comfortable as I've had this pack on my back for more than a couple hours at different times and it feels very comfortable. The pack materials, minus the straps, also feel very durable. Many other packs I've had use cheaper materials and they will start to tear as soon as the pack hits a rough surface. Even after a year of use the materials have held up great to my commute to and from downtown Chicago, whereas my other packs were truly tested and started to rip after a few months of use. If the material in this bag are anything like my ruck then I'm sure this pack, along with my ruck, will most likely outlive me!This pack could stand to be a little cheaper because of the couple items I mentioned above and I feel that a good bit of that cash is simply paying for name brand, but I do trust Blackhawk products and I would still pony up the cash because I know of the durability of Blackhawk products. Maybe not so much in the straps as I mentioned above, but the rest of the pack has been very solid. The two items I mentioned above can be frustrating, but fixable as long as you expect it to be a potential problem.

nice lightweight pack
compared to the older 3 day pack, this one is very lightweight and offers you more spots on it to attach pouches and whatever else you desire. the only gripes that i have is the the shoulder straps were placed too close together at the top of the pack and kept rubbing my neck almost raw. i had to get it modified.i believe that this is the gen1 version. also, the accessory pouches that you can order for the older pack are not compatible with this pack. besides that, when you load this pack up to 30 lbs, you can barely tell that you are carrying that much weight. makes for a very good overnighter/bug out bag/travel bag/ everyday pack.

Not Worth The Money
It's a very nice bag. However, as taught in the military to pull the straps as tight as possible for the most comfort and support to make carrying a pack easier, this bags straps are extremely close together and put a lot of painful pressure on the back of my neck. I purchased this bag because of pictures, the straps look separated enough to not cause any pain but the pictures were deceiving. The straps don't even stay at the adjusted place, they loosen almost daily forcing me to tape the straps so they won't loosen. I would not recommend this bag to anyone, especially at the expensive price it goes for.

Shoulder straps are too close...
I wanted this to be my base when I hit the road...its not comfortable. The shoulder straps are too close. Blackhawk has been good for me in the past...I still have a lot of their stuff. This is not the attention to detail was looking for. It's rugged enough...not ergonomic enough.
