Perfect in every way
I had an ancient Chasseur 28cm casserole that served us well for many years but was on its last leg. I spent ages trying to decide what to replace it with. Stainless steel seemed a good choice but could not find one of adequate size that was made in the UK/Europe. Enamelled cast iron is often off white and stains over time whilst losing its nonstick. Enter Staub, with a glorious dark interior of a slightly rougher texture. It is a perfect on all counts. Heavy, yes, but doesn’t shift as easily on induction so worth it. I am so pleased with this casserole.

Love my Staub
Full cast iron cookware is expensive but it just can't be bettered when it comes to slow cooking. I tried a bunch of slow cooker recipes in my Instant Pot and all were a miserable failure. Electric slow cookers heat underneath but this beast from Staub heats all over, evenly, in a fraction of the time. It's heavy and you can't stick it in the dishwasher (obviously) but if you are in the market for cookware that will give you rich flavours and last a lifetime, I can heartily recommend this.

Dissapointed
I’ve used this mainly for cooking larger quantity of meals and as a Dutch oven for baking bread. The oven temp is around 220C usually, maybe slightly higher at times for a few minutes. Ive followed all instructions, took care of it but it started flaking at the bottom and black hits started mixing with food soon after a year’s use, when the warranty expired. Quite dissapointed. Maybe it will be fine for cooking without oven use. But le cruiset used to be fine under similar conditions. Should have stuck to it.

Really impressed! But watch height.
Got this 28cm in grey, it's a great looking well finished piece. Heavy and feels of highest quality. Easy to clean inside and out. Got for £141 and feels like a bargain for a lifetime piece like this. Made braised chicken and a roast beef so far. Both turned out incredible.NOTE this thing is pretty tall and the only way I could get it to fit in my neff double (main large) oven was to lower the oven wire rack onto the oven floor. Works but definitely won't be fitting anything else in there with it. So be aware of this if you've a double oven. Other than that, very happy! Will also be buying the shallower version if/when it comes back on sale as it'll be versatile and lower in height.

Don’t hesitate to buy. A worthwhile investment!
I still question why it too me so long to purchase a Dutch oven!Initially sceptical (due to the sizeable investment), I can honestly say it was the best money spent during lockdown. From crusty artisan breads and flavourful Biryani cooked in the oven, to slow cooked falling off the bone lamb curry on the stove - the versatility is of this pot is endless.I did a lot of research on which of the two well-known brands to buy, and whether to purchase it online or wait for shops to open; however, I opted to buy this brand and from here on Amazon.Great price, fantastic prompt delivery.Would definitely recommend.

Super Staub Dutch Oven
I’d been looking for a quality casserole dish, I’ve had cheaper cast iron pots, but this is so good. You need to follow the instructions, easy to follow, just read the booklet.I got this at better than half price, was £239 in John Lewis.I’m over the moon with this purchase.

My fav pot
Bought a 20cm. It’s the best for my family of two. Easy to clean. It retains moisture better than Le Creuset. Looking to buy a slightly bigger one for roasting/braising next.
