This fire starter was exactly what my wife and I were looking for. We took a small class about fire starting without hydrocarbon or matches. This was one of the methods, we just do it for fun, but would be great for camping or backpacking. This was a simple method that makes good sparks.

While we haven't had the opportunity to use this in any real-life scenario, we tested it out, and it's fairly easy to create sparks with the fire starter. Love the waterproof container for the tinder too. Whole thing is nice and compact and seems well-made. Will be really handy for camping season!

Not quite what expected.

Bought as a gift for my brother arrived quickly. And he loved it when he opened it on Christmas. Not sure how it worked but he was happy to get it.

Works great, especially with cotton balls, dry cotton balls

To small for serious use. Hard to produce large sparks. It is nice for backup and compact is a plus.
