CyberLink PowerDirector 10 Deluxe

Hands down the most user friendly video editing software I have used. I can compare this to Sony Acid and MS Movie Maker (I think it's now called MS Live). Sony Acid may have a few more features but is not the least bit user friendly and is not very intuitive. MS is far too basic and does a poor job handling large video files.Cyberlink PD10 does a great job at addressing what Acid and MS lack without the excessive cost of Adobe software.Good value, ease of use and versatility. Also, see manufacturers list of compatible video file formats, it's huge!

I purchased this software to help me rotate videos and upload to youtube. It was working out of the box. Now a few months later - the software is shutting down when I try to produce a video.I have been emailing customer service for 2 weeks - it takes them 2+ days to respond to an email. They provided a detailed list of instructions - which I completed and confirmed back. Then they send me the same instructions again.I am so frustrated with subpar service. I can pay $30 to technical support, but that is half of what I paid for this software. I would have preferred to buy a more expensive program with better customer service now looking back.

I was never able to get Power Director to load; the wave editor would load but not the Power Director editor. It keeps asking me to register, then when I try to bring up PD it flashes up for about five seconds and then vanishes. I can get help because the software won't allow me to, so in turn I don't get customer service, which, by the way is over half of what I paid. After looking at the other reviews I should think that Amamzon would take a look at the problem and stop selling it. I have 16GB of RAM and 1.35TB, Windows 7 64-Bit which is plenty.I think that this company should stop ripping people off, it isn't fair that you should have to pay for IT solutions that: One, doesn't work through no fault of the consumer and Two, people are not warned by the company that of the pitfalls you will encounter.

I purchased this by mistake and have since returned it. I wanted a player and this isn't. Can't say whether it does what it says it does because I didn't use it.

Pros: looks niceCons: doesn't workI did a research and the TopTenReview score this product as the best.I bought "box" from Amazon.Installed - no problem.Created a DVD slideshow with 370 pictures + music for totally 2109MB. No fancy features, just "normal" transition. When I burned it to disk as a MPEG-2 format, it took 3:46 hours to reach 91%. During that time, the "time remaining" kept asking for more time, What disappointed! Once it's 91%, I left it run overnight for a total of 10 hours and it just stuck at 91%. Moreover, during that time, I could not open any application such as browser, Document, ...During editing step, it sometimes gray/black out my monitor for 4-5 minutes.My computer is a Vista, 2GB memory, Core Due 2, 60GB disk available. Apparently much more powerful that the minimum requirement. With such small project, it could not handle. I wonder what happen when I come to Video files?Besides, what I don't like is to see a transition, I have to go to next step "preview" and it takes sometimes to process that step too. Why don't they show sample transition so we can choose it before add it to project?To compare this, I download a trial version of the Corel VideoStudio Pro X4. I built a same disk/same size project (same pictures, music and duration). It took me 35 minutes to complete. Moreover, I could still be able to open other applications during it "burn" or processed the DVD.

Despite the WIndows 8.1 claim that they have a "compatibility mode" that will run older software, this program won't work. If you get the disk, it won't install. Damn you, Bill Gates!

It does a good job of preparing and editing at a fraction of the cost of other software available. Production could be improved to reduce the time it takes and some effects could be easier to use but overall does a very good job.

its a good video editor for home use. better then most that you can get for its price.
