SturbridgeCountry Rag Rug in Stone 24" x 72"

I was initially disappointed with the rug, but it's grown on me. I know the description says colors will vary, but I was expecting more color. I ordered "Stone," which shows a picture of off-white with traces of yellow, red, purple, green, grey and black. My rug is off-white with streaks of black and grey.I got past the lack of color, but was very concerned that the rug did not lay flat (see the photo). I am happy to report that I was able to flatten the rug by pressing it with 2x4 boards along the edges for about a week. I dampened the rug slightly and placed it between sheets of plastic to keep it clean. I put the weights on it overnight, and flipped it over and let it air out each day. It has stayed nice and flat since.The rug is lumpier under bare feet than I was expecting. I was hoping for something more soft and comfortable. But I am getting used to the feel, and it is more comfortable than standing on a hard floor. We bought it for the kitchen, to protect the floor under the sink, and to give our feet a break when we're preparing food and doing dishes.This rug is very slippery on a hardwood floor. I am using a gripping rug pad that is safe for hardwood floors, and it works very well.I chose this rug because it is washable and reversible, and the pattern should help hide dirt and spills. Overall, I'm happy with it.

So far, I really like this runner. The colors, the texture and the weight are great. It did have a funky smell at first, and a powdery residue that I had to shake off outside, but I like it now.

I've purchased a lot of rag rugs through the years but these are the smelliest ever. I washed them (they shrunk considerably, more than other cotton rag rugs I've had), left them outside to air for a couple of weeks, sprayed a fabric air freshener on them... still, they stink horribly! Too much trouble for the money although they are well made--hence, the 3 star rating.

I love the rug. The color scheme went perfectly for the area I purchased. I didn't notice any odor associated with the rug as stated in other reviews. I would most definitely recommend the seller and this rug to others to purchase. Packaged for shipping great! Was put in a plastic bag sealed to guard against the elements exposed during the shipping process.

Was not sure when ordering, but seems to be working out well. Have not yet washed, so?

I like having three rugs that match; nice varied sizes and the price was great. It is hard to find rag rugs which are washable and withstand years of wear (getting better by age). Nice item for the home and will be well used.
