Neeshow 1/4" OD Quick Connect Push In to Connect Water Tube Fitting Set Of 20 (Y+T+I+L Type Combo)

I didn't believe it when I read the other review. It just sounded too outlandish and I figured at this price, it was hard to go wrong. But they really do stink of raw fish. I did some research online but found nothing about plastic manufacturing processes resulting in a raw fish smell. I did a number of tests to see if whatever is causing the smell is adding any TDS to the water. It isn't, and if you only have one or two hooked up in an open air room, then you'll probably never notice. Put them back in a container for 24 hours then open and it reeks again. What's odd is that they have a recognizable company name stamped on them, which is a company I've bought these parts from before and none of those smelled bad. I would name the company, but the first four letters seem to set off Amazon's anti profanity filter. Seriously, I had to rewrite this. Say it like: she tong. Anyway, what the heck happened to these things? I've tried leaving them out in the open air for weeks. I've tried putting baking power in their container for days. I've tried putting them out in the sun to let the UV dissipate the odor. None of it has worked. Perhaps another week of sun treatment will do the trick? I really doubt the other review that claimed these things ruined their RO system. As far as I can tell, they work just fine. Just don't put to many together in the same enclosed space for any length of time. At this point I'm guessing they spent too much time stored beside raw shrimp. Were they kept on a shrimp boat maybe?

These work quite well however they kind of smell like cancer. I've purchased a lot of fittings in my life and never smelled anything quite as repugnant as these fittings. They do work however, I bought them for an ice maker installation but there's no way I'm drinking something that runs through these. It's like rotten fish and kerosene... hard to describe but truly awful.

For some reason the reviews were not showing when I ordered this kit, and I was not forewarned about the smell. I ordered these to use with my RO water system. The smell from these is persistent enough that I cannot imagine using them in my RO system.Others are saying these smell fishy. This is sort of true, but it's more of a chemical fish smell. I figured that airing them out after washing them might allow them to off gas, but after two weeks of airing out on top of my HEPA filter, I put them in a new box. Overnight the smell from these absolutely saturated the box. I cannot imagine them being of any use on a water line used for potable water. I thought about putting them in the water line going to my fish tanks but I can only imagine this would poison the fish. These are completely unusable, and although I absolutely hate having to do it; I'm going to have to return them.

There is no reason to buy more expensive quick connectors......these are every bit as good or BETTER than the $4/ea ones other than being a bit more bulky....they will easily hold 100+psi as i tested them to 125psi for an hour and leakage below the lowest limit of my gauge to read...which is 1/4psi....so essentially zero leakage.

great assortment of plastic connectors at a great price. I think the only thing i'm worried about is the plastic, is it going to leach any chemicals into my RO water? Who knows, i'm just assuming these were tested and safe so giving these 5 stars as they are as advertised and shipped quickly.

I received the product and I am happy I ignored the smelly fish reviews. Must be some competitor reviews. Zero problems and smell. Great value.
