Good product, not perfect
All around it is a good socket but it really does need to be able to accept a more raised bolt situation, gator sockets never seem to have enough pin travel to be useful on anything than a shallow bolt situation.

Seems To Be Of Good Quality. Maybe Someday I'll Actually Use It.
Maybe Someday I'll Actually Use It? I bought this product with another item and got a good deal on the purchase of both. Even though it seems to be well made, I don't think I would have bought it at full price simply because I don't use it that much. It was bought as one of those "Oh, that's an interesting tool, maybe someday I'll have a need for it" purchases. What? you never done that? Yeah right, we all do. As it turns out, I was right. I am writing this review several years after I actually purchased the item and have only used it a time or two. Overall, a good product, but more of an impulse item then something you'll actually use. Still, it has come in handy a time or two and since I already had it's smaller brother, it seemed like a good purchase at the time. Giving it a three star rating ONLY because I hardly use it, NOT because of the quality.

Very Useful Tool
Gator Grip is a super useful tool to have in your toolbox. You may not use it with frequency, but when you need it you'll be super happy that you have it.

Good for just about nothing..
This socket is a joke. I had to lol at how easily it failed and that after all my years working on things that I thought this might solve my problem. It fell apart like it was made of glass. I hadn't felt this gullible and stupid after a purchase in a long time. It does, however, deserve the mandatory one star because it made me laugh at myself.

Sooo Glad I bought this socket before doing smooth wire fencing.
So, I already have one of these, the smaller one (got it for christmas some years back). We were doing smooth wire fence where we were installing round eye ring threaded hardware into wooden posts. Normally you pre-drill and use something like a large crescent wrench or a screwdriver thru the eye of the hardware. This socket allowed me to get my cordless DeWalt 3/8" impact after pre-drilling and just rattle the eye lags into the posts. When you are doing this all day, it makes a real difference, probably saving me 5 minutes per post. The socket marks the eye because the steel on the lag is softer than the driving pins in the socket, but what a godsend! My only wish (as ridiculous as this sounds) would be for them to make an even bigger socket or something silly like an oval socket that accommodated very wide objects.... also, they need to make a "deep socket" version of both as the pins only go in about 1" due to some sort of plastic carrier inside. Solution, make a longer socket? Eh? No complaints, though, great for driving eye lags, hook lags, wing nuts, square head bolts, etc.

Frustration saver
I work construction and constantly run into situations were I need some odd shaped tool to get off a rusted non-standard nut or bolt. This thing saves us hours of frustration and makes me look like a genius to my crew. The thing is massive though, so it wouldn't fit into a supertight space. I also recommend trying to keep dirt and debris out of it or cleaning it after use as I have a few of the small ones and the pistons stop working if too much dirt goes in there.
