Staxverade iPad Keyboard Case 2017/2018/Air/Air 2/Pro 9.7-360°Rotating Back Cover-Aluminum Bluetooth Keyboard with 7 Backlit Color(Only for 9.7’’)

When I first opened the box and installed my iPad I was very impressed with the quality of the Keyboard Case, especially the keyboard and case materials. Pairing the keyboard with my iPad was flawless and worked with every program I use. I use my iPad as both a tablet and a laptop depending on what I am doing at the time and this case allowed me to quickly configurations. Within a day, the swivel portion that attaches the iPad to the Keyboard was loose. A few more days of use and the iPad would just flop around. It started to become dangerous, as depending on how you picked up the unit, either the iPad would swivel around and create an unbalance unit as the iPad would swivel around and cause me to either drop the unit back on the desktop and/or pinch my finger. I really like this unit if they could find a way to make the swivel hinge reliable.

I’ll update the rating accordingly, when I have this item longer. Appears to be good quality. Your iPad will be noticeably heavier. This is not a negative or positive comment. It’s just an observation. I did have to restart my iPad many times before I was able to connect via Bluetooth. I hope this is not an every single time occurance, as that will be a game changer. The keyboard also has its own power cord. Which is not a huge deal, but that’s just one more thing now I have to plug in (watch, iPhone, work iPhone, iPad, keyboard, etc...). I was hoping it was somehow powered through the iPad. I guess I didn’t read the description thoroughly enough. I’m a little concerned on the durability of the swivel. I’ve only had this for a day, so I will update if needed. The case appears durable as it’s made of metal, which assists in the added weight.Update: I down graded the stars. It takes forever to sync the Bluetooth. More importantly, the hinge becomes very loose. I can’t open this thing beyond 90 degrees without it falling. I can’t figure out how to re-tighten the hinge.

If you want to use an iPad like a laptop, this keyboard case suits that purpose. The 360-degree swivel allows you to use the iPad like an iPad when you want, by covering the keys. The typing feel is good - the keys are small but usable, and more usable than the rubber keyboard from Apple and others. The finish of his keyboard case looks very good. So now the downside... If you like your iPad because it's thin and light, using this keyboard makes it just the opposite. My 2018 iPad (wi-fi + cellular) weighs 16.6 ounces by itself. Putting the iPad in this keyboard case the total weight becomes 39.5 ounces, almost 2.5-times heavier. This case makes your iPad into a big and bulky device. Adding the case makes the thin iPad into a very thick device as shown in the third photo below, comparing thickness of the iPad (right) to the case (left). In comparison to carrying my 15" mid-2008 MacBook Pro: that weights 83 ounces and is the same thickness as this iPad case. One very annoying aspect of using this case is that there's a bit of wobble when touching the iPad, which you still have to do even with a keyboard. Over time I'm concerned this wobble will get worse. Bottom line: I'm on the fence about this keyboard/case. It is smaller than carrying a large laptop, but not nearly as small and light as carrying an iPad alone.

Do not purchase. Initially, I really enjoyed this keyboard/ case. Then after about 1 month the hinge became very wobbly, side to side. I reinforced it with some Velcro along the bottom to create higher tension and it just kept progressing from there to worse and worse. My usage on it was for professional purposes but is not my primary device. I used TLC for the last 6 mo. But it was so wobbly and unstable when opened I used sparingly. Eventually it just came apart one day on opening. No surprise there given the recent issues I had been having. I see it’s unavailable now so who knows if its been discontinued or not. Regardless, DO NOT BUY.

There are a few issues with this case, one is general and two are related to the case that I particularly received:(1) If you lean the iPad too far back, the weight of the iPad makes the whole case tip over. That is: the keyboard is no heavy enough to counter-weight the iPad at a certain point.(2) The charging cable I received was defective.(3) The left arrow / home button of the product I received sticks. When I press it, it stays stuck down, usually for one to five minutes.The 360-degree swivel is excellent, and the keyboard is generally nice. I returned the product due to the two issues noted above. I will not likely replace it with the same, case however.

So disappointed in this keyboard and case for my iPad Air 2. In a matter of weeks, the hinge that allows the screen to swivel is lose and wiggly. The iPad is starting to pop out of the case frequently and unexpected so I fear I’ll drop it/damage it. It affects the sound and causes it to “cut out”. The keyboard is slow to respond so you start off typing and it responds after a word or too were actually typed. Have to watch to be sure you don’t have any typos! I would return it if I could be the return date ended about 2 weeks ago. Not happy with this purchase at all!

Purchased this case for my work iPad and it really turns your iPad into a mini Mac book. The keyboard appears sturdy and is worlds better than my previous keyboard which had keys pop off after a few weeks of use. There was a previous reviewer that commented on this unit appearing cheap. I disagree 100%. This unit takes the iPad experience to a whole new level, appears high quality, very easy to set up and no lag time with typing. Very happy with this purchase and highly reccommend this unit.**Update** The unit did receive 1 star reviews for the ipad flipping out of the unit and i did also experience this. I placed some thin strips of foam packing material to the back of the ipad and my ipad no longer flips out when I open my computer. It was a simple quick fix and I am still in love with this unit.
